08|ᴏʜ ᴘᴏᴏʀ ᴀʀᴀᴄʜɴᴇ

As the two girls approached the monkey cage, the blonde started slowly approaching her district 10 tribute as the breen approached her district 7 tribute

"Hey, beautiful capital lady" The boy says as he approaches the bars spreading the two, The girl blushed hard at his words with a smile on her face

"Hello treech" the girl said before sitting down, he sat down next to her "here i didn't have much but it's something," The girl says handing him a medium size can he opened it saw a soup, he looked at it before looking at her

"I'm really not trying to be ungrateful at all, i mean i'll eat it anyway but, what is this?" the boy asked

"It's called gumbo, i made it this morning," the girl said with a chuckle, he nods before he grabs the spoon she held and took a bite, he looked at her so impressed, he's never had anything this delicious in his life that was soup, he always hated soup but this, he loved it so much

"It's so good cilla, thank you, i must say i'm pretty lucky to have a mentor that cooks so well" she laughed as she looked around, she saw lamina eating a sandwich while talking to pup

"Have you gotten any more food from the crowd?" she asked as she watched him keep eating the soup

"I got an apple a from a lady, a couple of people fought over some bread a man threw in, reaper won it but he didn't eat it instead he handed it to dill" Treech said before taking another bite,  The girl turned to him to see she was already staring at him she then turned to look back at treech "I can see all kinds of people holding food, but i think they're to afraid to get close, even if they already have peacekeepers around us"

The girl nodded listening to him talk before she saw a girl around 10 holding a boiled potato, she looked like she was with her friends, she looked at treech before looking up at her father, who nodded in approval, she stood behind Priscilla keeping his distance

"Did you bring that potato for treech" the blonde headed asked softly making treech look up from his food

"Yes, I saved it from dinner, i wanted to eat it but then i remembered him from the T.V he looked hungry so i saved it for him" the girl said

"Go on then" The breen girl said with a smile "He won't hurt you i promise, he's one of the kindest guys," the girl nodding before approaching the district seven male

"Hello there, what's your name?" Treech asks with a smile growing

"Mari, i saved you my potato," said the girl

"aren't you a darling, should i eat it now or save it?" Treech asked the girl smiling as he still sat

"Now" the girl said as she started to smile

"Okay then" He then took a bite out of the potato "my goodness nicest tasting too, thank you Mari sweetheart" The cameras closed in on then as one of her friends a boy this time gave him an orange, and another a soupbone

"Can you show us your juggling trick?" The girl questioned, treech then looked at Priscilla, she looked in her bag and took out theee walnuts she got from festus an hour ago, he nodded as the Breen girl handed it to him

"Well now i can now that my lovely mentor had brought something" He said, he then stood up before he started throwing them in the air, he was juggling for a good minute, the children approached as they looked at him amazed as no one in the capital ever had any tricks, he then threw them all in the air before catching them in his mouth, The audience applauded for him making him smile, The tributes then began to compete for attention making the cameras go to the center

"How impressive lumberjack" the girl said as he sat down with her as he let out a laugh, the girl then turned to look at her friend Arachne as Treech just started at her, Priscilla watched as Arachne had laid out a little picnic for her tribute, her sandwich's she brought, and grapes, the girl from ten leaned eagerly into the bars as Arachne wasn't handing the sandwich immediately, the girl sighed watching what her friend was doing to the girl

"She's playing with fire there, your friend." Treech spoke as she saw Brandy reach through the bars, and Arachne withdrew the sandwich making the audience laugh

"That's how Arachne is, she isn't the best person out there, but she is a great friend" The girl spoke as she looked at treech feeling as he grabbed her hand, they both smiled before looking back at the two girls

Arachne waved to the crowd before taking a bite herself, Priscilla noticed Brandy's face darkened, the muscles tightening in her neck, she also saw Brandy's fingers sliding down the bars grabbing the knife, Priscilla started to rise about to shout a warning to her friend who hadn't noticed, but it was to late.

In one movement, the tribute yanked Arachne toward slicing her throat.

Shrieks came from the audience members nearest to the attack, Arachne's face drained of color as she dropped the sandwich clawed her neck but the blood poured down her fingers, Brandy released her and gave her a small shove, Priscilla ran over to her friend

"Arachne! no no, your gonna be okay, please just stay with me" The girl said, as her friend clutched her shirt "Medic!" Priscilla shouted with tears coming to her eyes "Is there a doctor? please, someone help!" she shouted as tears fell down her face, she pressed her hand trying to stop the bleeding but it only caused both the girls hand to be covered with her blood

"Pri...cilla" she heard her friend speak grabbing onto her shirt

"yes, yes i'm right here" The girl said as she kept shouting for help but no one came, she saw the peacekeepers come towards her, she turned her head looking at Brandy, seeing she retrieved the cheese sandwich and take a bite out of it, she felt an arm go around her making her go down, she turned to look at brandy seeing bullets perice her body, bits of half chewed food fell from her moth and floated in the red pool of blood

She looked over to see Coriolanus, he was the one who blocked her before she got shot not noticing the bullets come her way very close to her, The girl looked at Arachne as she sobbed

"cilla...tha —nk... you" The girl spoke out making the girl sob

"No no your going to be okay, please, your going to be fine" The breen girl said, then she felt Arachne's breathing stop abruptly, she then closed her eyes

"rest arachne" The breen girl whispered as she sobbed into Coriolanus chest, feeling the red liquid all over her hands, she turned and saw Treech standing up with his hands up as the peacekeepers pointed the guns at him, he was only trying to approach the breen girl

The medics finally appeared, lifting Arachne onto the stretcher

"Oh now you guys decide to come and help, when she's dead?! Arachne's dead now and you guys did nothing to help her!" Priscilla shouted at them as the tears streaming down her face kept coming, Festus then came in front of her hugging her trying to calm her down from her anger and frustration, he got a cloth from the medics and tried to wipe the girls hands as best as he could

They spotted Sejanus kneeling near the dead tribute, he seemed to be sprinkling a handful of something white overt her body with mumbling words.

Festus and Coriolanus then led the girl away to the path of where the apartments were, before she left she turned her head looking at Treech with tears in her eyes, The boy looked at her as he stood behind the bars, before putting his head down ashamed he couldn't do anything but watch as the capital boys helped his mentor, as he stood inside the monkey cage.
