descamps gets jealous. again.
—The following day, Martine ended up falling sick, leaving Sadie in the company of Simone and Michèle after the brunette had noticed her walk into school alone.
"I'm just glad you're my partner, Simone," Michèle sighed. "Not only do I not have to worry about getting one of the boys, but I have a much better chance at getting a good grade!"
Sadie tilted her head at her. "Did you fail in this class, too?"
Sadie knew the girl had a hard time in Maths, since Le Goff had pulled them both aside at one point in the term, but she wasn't aware of her struggle in Philosophy as well.
Michèle shrugged helplessly. "I failed half of my finals."
Sadie's face dropped into a horrified expression. "I'm sorry, what?"
Michèle sighed as she went over her test results, groaning at Sadie's reactions.
"A three? Michèle, did you even show up to class?" Sadie balked.
Michèle swatted at Sadie's shoulder. "Yes! I just didn't understand anything! Can you tutor me?"
Sadie snorted. "I'm the last person you want for Maths, love, I got a nine. What about you, Simone?"
The bobbed brunette shook her head. "I don't want to talk about this—it's too depressing!"
Sadie laughed as Simone leaned on her, turning to Michèle with a look. "Well, what upbeat and empowering thing would you like to discuss, then?"
Simone hummed before her eyes lit up. "Are you going to the football game Friday?"
Sadie tilted her head in confusion. "Football game? Who's playing?"
Simone and Michèle exchanged sly looks.
"You haven't heard?" asked Simone, in disbelief.
When Sadie shook her head, Michéle chimed in, "Every year after finals are over, the students play a football match against the teachers. Winners get something from the losers for the rest of the school year—we've lost every year so far, but my brother said it's a huge tradition here!"
Sadie felt a grin pull at her lips, excitement bubbling up as they got to their room and the three of them headed towards Michèle and Simone's seats. "Do you know anyone who's playing?"
Simone giggled. "Do you remember the boy who I had dinner with at the auction?"
"Casiro's playing?" Sadie asked, feeling a bit of excitement.
Michèle laughed heartily as she noticed red creep up her cheeks. "Sadie, are you blushing?!"
She rolled her eyes when Simone gasped in fake offense. "Coming after my man, Devereaux?"
