i watch you

"I can't believe I just did that," Sadie breathed, "I can't believe I just did that!"

Joseph smirked from beside her, leaning against the railing in front of them as he sighed. "I can't believe you still have a voice after all of that singing."

After more than one song, Dupin had to practically drag Sadie away from the microphone, saying how they didn't have much time if they wanted to go on the Eiffel Tower. Sadie told them to go on without her, but Dupin insisted since, according to him, "Joseph will sleep out here if you don't stop", which got her moving—much to the crowd's disappointment. He was booed and some people even threw their trash at him, but Charlie had done a good enough job of batting them away, which turned out to be as impressive as comedic. Even after saying their goodbyes to the other street performers, Dupin and Molly had taken to throwing their cigarette butts at him as they walked to see how well his reflexes were. It had entertained them for a while, until Joseph told them to knock it off when he realized Sadie would stay behind to pick up the discarded trash. But what got everyone was how right after Sadie had left, the skies suddenly grew colder and—for the first time of the year—it began to snow.

The change in weather sent many into a frenzy; some delightful, while others were rushing to get back to their hotels. Sadie, who wasn't the biggest fan of the cold, quickly moved along with the others to get wherever Dupin led them. So after ambling along the streets and complaining the entire way up the first set of stairs of the Eiffel Tower, they found themselves with a few other students from their year on the first deck.

Sadie had already been winded from all of the stairs, but the view had completely taken her breath away as she saw the Seine River from the tower's golden-tinged view. After finding an open spot against the divider and practically stationing herself against it, it was decided the group didn't need to go to the top and stuck close to rest and enjoy the view. Though, when Joseph started coughing a lot and shooting pointed looks, Molly suddenly dragged Dupin and Charlie away with the excuse of wanting to see whose spit could hit the ground floor first, leaving the pair of them alone. Joseph had offered her a cigarette, but Sadie questioned whether that would be a good idea after the coughing fit he'd just had. After a bit of deliberation, it led them to now, sharing the stick back and forth and discussing the events of the night.

She laughed as she shook her head in disbelief, taking the cigarette from him. "Ah, once I finished the first song, I just couldn't help but keep going! It was so—god, I forgot how fun that was!" She giggled a little, only to stifle it as she saw the unreadable look on his face. "Sorry, I didn't mean to take up so much time there, or yap about it to you—"

"Don't be," he cut her off. He easily reassured her, "You spent all day letting me take pictures of you, I would've listened to you sing all night if you wanted."
