A/N: Just to clarify any confusion. In this world the Rise of the Guardians movie happened except without the part of Jack searching for his memories, or the children coming to believe in him.

Of all the Guardians, Sandy knew Pitch best. They were counterparts; dreams and nightmares. The oldest of all the spirits and magical creatures of the world. No one knew how either of them came to be, only that they came together. Both possessing almost identical powers. One of light and the other of dark. Sandy had always felt responsible for Pitch in some way. They used to hope that they could work together, and be on the same side. But they could never agree on what side. Now that hope was lost forever and they swore to destroy each other. Like sand through and hour glass, Sandy could feel the time approaching. When one of them would finally cease to exist. It was a battle neither of them was prepared to lose.

Tooth had taken to doing a headcount of her baby tooth fairies regularly. She would never forget the grief and helplessness she felt the last time Pitch had taken them from her. There wasn't much she could do to protect them. She was much better at healing than fighting. And besides, they had to go out every night to collect teeth. It was unlikely that Pitch would try the same strategy again but you never knew with him. She thought that he was gone, defeated for good. But it wasn't so. And now with this new danger, she was suspicious of every shadow. She tried not to show it, she didn't want to panic anyone and it was up to her to keep up the morale of the Guardians. She did the best she could, sometimes that was all anyone could do, and just pray it was enough.

North was subtly making preparations. He didn't know when, he didn't know what, he didn't know how, but Pitch was planning something. And they would be ready. He couldn't be certain so he hadn't told the others, he didn't want anyone panicking, everyone needed to be on their A-game, just in case. And that couldn't happen if they were too worried.
North quietly spent some extra time sharpening his weapons, checking the magical barrier of Elsa's room and talking to the yetis about surveillance.
A dark time was coming, and he meant that literally. It was approaching the end of the lunar cycle.
Which, contrary to popular belief among mortals, was not every 29 days. A true lunar cycle was not constant. It had to be carefully tracked. It wasn't common but sometimes a true lunar eclipse would occur. A time where nowhere on earth would the moon's light reach. It would be a particularly vulnerable time for the Guardians. Pitch may not have been tracking the true lunar cycle but it he was, he would want to act soon.

Bunny (in his opinion) had the most to lose if Pitch won. He shuddered every time he remembered how close Pitch had come to winning last time.
He took great pride in his strength and battle prowess. And in some cruel twist of fate, when he is no longer believed in, he becomes an adorable, tiny bunny. It was some of the worst hours of his life. He did not want that to happen again.
Oh, and Easter and stuff.

Finally, after weeks of work, they had finished.
"Finally! C'mon let's do something to celebrate. I think we've earned it!"
