This is the story of two rivals. Brought together by a common goal. A fight for power and a desperate attempt to work together if they ever hope of getting out alive.
Introducing....
HENCHMEN: THE ORIGINS
*epic opening music*
From a young age, they were rivals. Whether it was the love of a girl or the last slice of pizza. They always wanted the same thing. What cruel fate that two so alike should be pitted against each other by the throws of fate. Their childhood homes stood directly facing another across a not very busy street. They would stare each other down form their porches. Not having a friendly staring competition as everyone thought but trying to intimidate the other. Until someone would inevitably walk between them. When the view was no longer blocked both boys would have vanished. But not because they were intimidated or anything of course.
As they grew into average looking young men (below average actually) their rivalry continued. In everything from looks to skill to intelligence they were evenly matched. To say others surpassed them would be to say that they were ever good at anything to begin with. But regardless, their rivalry continued with no end in sight.
One day their lives changed forever. Their rivalry had reached a fever pitch as they realised that this was the final straw. They stood facing off western style. But instead of cowboy standoff music they only sound was the children's choir practicing. And they were not good singers.
"So, after all this time. It comes down to this."
"I always knew you would take it too far."
"Maybe not far enough..."
With that both of them charged.
As they tumbled down the street fighting. The other villagers tsk'd and shook their heads sadly. Mothers rushed their children away muttering, "remember to stay in school kids or you could end up like that."
"Oi!" a baker yelled. "Take that tomfoolery elsewhere!" They stopped and dropped their heads guiltily.
"Sorry"
As soon as the Baker's back was turned they glanced at each other and continued. They rolled through mud, puddles, thistles, manure. Till finally they ended up in a dark alleyway. The thing that they had been fighting over rolled away from both of them. It was the highly prized straw. But not just any straw. it was one of those cool bendy straws and it was the last one in town. They watched it slide across the ground. Following it they realised at the same time that it has landed at the feet of a cloaked figure.
"Ayo ma'am give to me. That's mine"
"No way he's lying its mine!"
"SILENCE! I AM NO 'MA'AM' I AM THE LORD OF DARKNESS AND YOU SHOULD BE BEGGING FOR MERCY."
"Oh right right. *Ahem* please please please please please gimme gimme please!!!!"
"Also why are you wearing a dress?"
The dark figure grew to tower over them menacingly and was about to smite them when a sound echoed behind them.
The stranger exclaimed, "Rats!"
"Where?!"
Suddenly a pit opened up beneath all three of them and down they fell just as something bright passed over them.
"What was?-"
"Shhhhh" the stranger said while covering their mouths.
"Pah, is this sand? I hate sand- witches."
