(Elsa's POV)

Elsa always knew that she was different. Not every kid was born with magical powers. But she was never afraid of them. They were hers and they were beautiful. She used to love playing with Anna with her magic. They would often sneak out of their room at night to play in the grand ballroom or steal chocolate from the kitchens. Even though their parents were busy being the ruling monarchs of Arendelle, they always made time for their children. Days were filled with snowballs, stories, love and laughter. Life was perfect...Was.

It happened on a day like any other. Anna had once again dragged Elsa out of bed with the prospect of a snowman. Oh, what fun they had. Ice skating, snow angels, and of course a snowman named Olaf. But then something went wrong. Something that Elsa never in a million years imagined would ever happen. Anna got hurt. Elsa struck her sister with a blast of frozen magic and knocked her unconscious. For the first time in her life, Elsa felt fear. And not just any fear. She was afraid of her powers, afraid of herself.

Their parents took them to the trolls and Anna had all her memories of Elsa's powers removed. After that, the trolls gave Elsa a warning; fear will be her enemy. The king and queen did the only thing that they could think to do. In an attempt to protect their daughters, they were cut off from the world and each other. That very day, Elsa moved out of her shared room with Anna. The last she saw of her sister was a look of utter betrayal and hurt. "it's better this way" she told herself as she closed her door. And that night, for the first time ever, Elsa had a nightmare.

(Jack's POV)

We took turns watching over her as she slept. North was worried that Pitch may have put some sort of spell on her. So far she seemed okay. She slept for a long time though-almost 30 hours. And of course, with my luck, I was the one who was there when she woke up. She had been sleeping relatively peacefully so far (thanks to Sandy) but a few minutes before she woke up, her face contorted into a grimace and she muttered something that sounded like 'Anna'? Suddenly she bolted upright and looked around frantically, clearly very confused. Great, just great, now I had to try to explain to this strange girl where she was, who I was and what under the moon was going on. Fantastic. I shifted on my chair and looked at her with a strained smile.

"Good morning, did you sleep well?" I said, attempting to be friendly.

She looked at me strangely and asked. "what?"

"Umm, hello? How are you?" (I facepalmed internally, why did it have to be me.)

Again she just looked at me strangely, but this time said nothing.

"Listen, I know this must be confusing but it's okay. We just want to help....... Soooo, uh what's your name?" again she said nothing and just stared. I was about to lose it when thankfully Tooth came in for the next shift.

"Oh," Tooth exclaimed. I'll go get the others. And she zipped out as quickly as she had come in.

"I can get them there's no need to-"

But Tooth was already gone. I sat there awkwardly, waiting for the other Guardians to come. The girl seemed to have forgotten that I existed and had instead pulled her knees to her chest and was staring at the bottom of the bed.

Finally the others arrived and North took charge

Finally the others arrived and North took charge.

"Ah, you have awoken. You are confused, yes? Fear not, we are...(dramatic pause and pose) ....THE GUARDIANS! It is our duty to protect the children of this earth and to stop Boogeyman get more powerful. You are safe here."

Then kangaroo butted in, "Look ere Sheila, what did Pitch want wit ye enyway?"

"Bunny", Tooth scolded, "can't you give the poor thing a moment to take all this in. We haven't even introduced ourselves yet!" Then turning to the girl Tooth added. "I'm Tooth, and that's Bunny, North, Sandy and Jack. We're ever so pleased to meet you. So what's your name?"

We all looked at her expectantly but she just slowly shook her head and held onto her knees so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

Bunny, ever the impatient pessimist, then took a big step forward and loudly blurted out, "Listen ere, ye better tell us ye name en wat under the moon ye were doin in Pitch's lair!"

"Bunny!" Tooth gasped.

"I'm jus sayin' we din know anything aboot her. She could be a bloomin spy fir all we know!"

"....Elsa...."

"Pardon?"

"I'm Elsa." She whispered. Then looked up at us with eyes full of such fear, pain, uncertainty and a sort of desperate hope, that even Bunny felt sorry for her.
