Aamaira sat on her throne, staring blandly at the audience that filled the auditorium of Mnet's Checkmate: Idol Rapstar. On the main stage were both Yeeun of CLC and Jiyoon of 4minute. Jiyoon was ranked last after the live voting this episode and she had chosen Yeeun to be her rap battle opponent. Aamaira glanced at the remote she held in her hand, the two buttons on the small device seemed to glare at her.

After watching both women's performances she had some concerns. Jiyoon had openly called Yeeun a Hyuna wannabe at of her rap. In lines of her rap, it was clear she had an issue with not only Yeeun but also maybe even jealousy for Hyuna. She spent her time picking apart Yeeun's talent to the point where it was clear Yeeun was nearly on the verge of tears.

It was surprising how Yeeun bounced back. The tears in her eyes did not hold her back. If anything it unleashed something out of her. The girl did not hold anything back. She addressed Jiyoon head-on. Calling her a washed-up, and flipping the idea of being a Hyuna wannabe from being a 'diss' to a compliment, going as far as telling Jiyoon that maybe if she had left an impact on the K-pop industry she would have a mini-me too.

She ate. Aamaira was left floored. Okay, quite Yeeun had a beast lying within her. Aamaira was grinning by the time she cast her vote. She knew Yeeun had room to grow. But, she also recognized potential when she saw it. There was no way she would ignore it. She just hoped the audience agreed with her. After what they just witnessed.

Now was the waiting game. Was this how the awaiting audience felt after casting their vote each week? Aamaira wonders as she feels anxious as well as impatient.

Hyoyeon seemed to take her time with everything she had to say, pausing here and there, speaking languidly as if she had all the time in the world. All in an attempt to build anticipation. Aamaira just wanted her to make the announcement and be over with it.

Girl, just tell us who won! Aamaira resisted the urge to yell.

"After tonight only five idols will remain on Checkmate: Idol Rapstar. So far the journey has been incredible. Each round so far has successfully showcased the hidden talents of each contestant, showcasing how well-rounded each of the idols is. Sadly, with all that sad an idol journey comes to an end tonight." Hyoyeon spoke. "Beside me are two incredible ladies. Both have displayed talents beyond your wildest dreams, gifting you with the arsenal needed to motivate you to vote for them. The question, is was it enough?"

"The future of Yeeun's and Jiyoon's journeys was placed in your hands and in the coming moment we will know exactly who you have given the opportunity to advance. But first," Hyoyeon grins. "Before we continue, let us hear from the grand masters."

"Both battles were entertaining. I finally saw a battle that was equally entertaining as both opponents gave as they got. No one overdid it. No one went over the line. It was not out of pocket. Dare I say there is something others can learn from here." Jay Park states grinning.

"Thank you, Jay Park," Hyoyeon says. "How about Suga, is there anything you wish to comment on?"

"Jiyoon, you are a veteran in this industry. I expected way more from your freestyle. You said a lot, you had punchlines but it also fell flat. At times it felt as if you were fighting to keep your flow on the beat and as such your cadence felt unpolished." Yoongi's cat eyes seemed tired as he spoke. "This performance has shown me that though you have the years of experience behind you, you may need to give up rap and start investing in other avenues of your talent."
