Aamaira stifles a yawn as she stares at the pretty Seoul city lights from the comfort of the passenger seat of the car as the vehicle cruises by. Her manager was driving her to what had become her regular Friday night destination.
"Kon-' Lalisa spoke from beside her, breaking off as she eyes Aamaira's manager, Hongkyu, who was busy riding shotgun.
"Hmm," Aamaira hums as she takes one last look at the blazingly blinding city lights. Seoul's nightlife heavily contributed to the exorbitant lights that many businesses displayed nightly.
"Did you know YG is getting stricter on security?"
"What?" Aamaira exclaims, surprise colored her voice as Lalisa's words caught her off guard. Her surprise simmered as she noticed how vividly concerned Lalisa was. At that she frowns. "Do you know why?"
Was it because of weird, delusional fans? Aamaira wonders.
"They are trying to keep it a secret but..." She eyes Hongkyu once more. When she spoke again her voice dips into a softer tone. A whisper. "Between you and me, late night yesterday, when Seungri seonbaenim was leaving YG, he got into his car and there was a snake in his back seat."
"Someone broke into YG's car park, just to leave Seungri a pet snake...." Aamaira assumes before she scoffs like she had tasted something nasty. There were things she would have left Seurngi with, and a pet snake was not one of them.
"No! Not a pet snake. A Ussuri Mamushi." Lalisa corrects her.
"A Ussuri Mamushi." Aamaira responds. Her eyes grew wide as she gazed at Lalisa. "Are you sure?"
Lalisa nods in absolute certainty.
Aamaira shudders at the thought of coming across an Ussuri Mamushi. A native to open grassland, forest edges, marshes, and paddy fields. The Ussuri Mamushi is a terrestrial pit viper that is one of the most dangerous snakes anyone would have probably wanted to avoid rather than go looking for it. Known for being nocturnal, the snake is famously known for being rather aggressive species and quick to bite if threatened.
Aamaira had come across these snakes a few years back when reading an article on a South Korean man who had met his tragic end whilst on a camping trip. According to her quick Naver search after reading the article she had learned that its bites can cause excruciating pain, producing internal organ hemorrhages and bleeding at bite sites. If lucky, victims typically need a hospital stay of up to a week to recover. Her skin crawled at the thought of her ever coming across any light brown-gray or black with large, dark, elliptical blotches on the back and sides of the snake. That would be a fate worse than death.
"Damn," Aamaira mutters. She did not like the guy but, would she try to kill him with a snake? No. Would she pay to kill him however?
Lalisa nods, her expression sympathetic. "It's not the first time he received an alarming gift. The night before last night's incident, staff collected a fan gift on his behalf. Apparently it was expensively wrapped and everything. When he opened it however you wouldn't believe what he saw."
