Vaera wished she could have seen it. Winterfell was said to be beautiful. Everyone bowed before the king, vaera heard them shifting on the ground before Robert. She stumbled on the snow and Gregor grabbed her arm pulling her back into him.
"I got you." Gregor assured.
"What does it look like?" Vaera questioned.
"Heavens." Gregor muttered.
"Heaven? Really? Not what I was expecting." Vaera teased.
"Vaera, come meet the starks." Cersei instructed.
"Oh, sure..." Vaera agreed and cersei took her head, she took careful steps following Cersei to the lord of winterfell and his wife Catelyn.
"We are so honored to have you, your grace." Catelyn said stepping forward.
"Your grace." Ned knelt begrudgingly to kiss Cersei's ring.
"Might I introduce my sister, Vaera." Cersei added when Ned rose.
"Hi, its nice to meet you both." Vaera stuck out a hand, she had gave up on curtsies a long time ago, that took too much balance and definitely not in the snow. She wasnt going to attempt it. Ned extended a hand and saw the glossiness of vaera's green eyes. She shifted her hand slightly until she felt his hand and gave it a shake. Ned stared at her a long moment. "He's staring isnt he?" Vaera whispered to her sister.
"He is. how rude, Lord Stark." Cersei agreed.
"I'm sorry." Ned agreed. "I just heard..."
"ABout my accident no doubt, yes." Vaera agreed. "Could you describe winterfell for me? Gregor was grumbling, I hear its beautiful." Ned stumbled over his words looking to Catelyn but she didnt know what to say either.
"It's home... its old and... dark..." Ned offered with a laugh.
"You have many children? I heard you saying their names.... Bran and Rickon the youngest?"
"Yes... would you like to meet them?" Ned questioned.
"Ned, show me to the crypts!" Robert barked.
"Plenty of time for introductions and awkward stares later." Vaera assured. "I'm actually quite thirsty, I dont suppose I could bother someone for a glass of water?" Vaera requested.
"Yes, follow me." Catelyn agreed. Vaera slipped on the snow landing on her ass.
"Snow angels!" Rickon declared flopping down beside her, Vaera shrieked as a direwolf jumped on her kissing her face. "He wont hurt you, he's just a pup." Rickon added.
"Vaera," Gregor grumbled pulling her to her feet and ushering Shaggy dog off.
"Keep the wolves away from Lady Vaera." Ned whispered to Robb. "She was attacked when she was younger by a horse, kicked her in the head, she lost her sight, she doesnt need our untrained pups jumping all over her."
"Yes father." Robb agreed running to corral the wolves.
"Do you like my snow angel?" Rickon questioned.
"Um... yes. It's beautiful." Vaera agreed brushing herself off.
"She can't see nimrod, didnt you hear your father?" Theon questioned.
"What are you talking about?" Rickon countered.
"Please, follow me, Lady vaera, we will get you something to drink." Catelyn encouraged. "And get you out of the snow."

The feast was a lot of sounds, a lot of new people and voices, a lot of new smells. Vaera stuck to Gregor's side as he shoveled down food and ale like it was going out of style.
"You hungry?" Gregor questioned wiping at his lip. Vaera shook her head trying to take everything in. "Too much on your brain in here?" Gregor realized, she nodded and he rose up, burping then offering her a hand up. "Come on, we can take a break outside."
"Thank you." Vaera agreed holding tight to his arm as they got into the cold.
"All dwarves are bastards in their fathers eyes." Tyrion corrected before seeing Vaera, an actual bastard to whom their father loved more than life. "Hello my sweet sister."
"Hi Tyrion." Vaera answered.
"I'm sorry if..."
"It's okay." Vaera assured. "I know daddy loves me."
"That he does." Tyrion agreed giving her hand a squeeze as he headed inside.
"He loves you too, he just doesnt know how to show it.... to any of you really. He's bad at it.... but well not to me, just you lot."
"He's gone Vaera." Gregor countered.
"Shut me up sooner." Vaera requested.
"Noted." Gregor agreed.
"We are not alone." Vaera realized.
"No." Gregor agreed.
"Hello, I'm vaera!" She stuck out a hand and Jon moved to her.
"Jon Snow, my lady." He answered.
"Snow." She repeated.
"Yes, hence why your brother was making such kind comments."
"My father legitimized me. If your father is becoming hand of the king I'm sure he will do the same. It's a lot easier when you have the king in your pocket, like when he married my sister." Vaera clarified. "I... I dont remember ever not being a lannister..."
"Who was your mother?" Jon questioned.
"OH, I dont know." Vaera countered.
"Me either." Jon agreed.
"My father doesnt talk about her. "
"Mine too." Jon declared. Vaera chuckled.
"Arent we just two peas in a frozen pod." vaera laughed out. Jon chuckled, but his gaze shifted to a looming Gregor.
"You should head back inside my lady, you will freeze out here." Jon recommended.
"You know best." Vaera agreed, but she glanced to Gregor.
"Clear skies, sprinkled with stars." Gregor agreed. She beamed up at him.
"Sprinkled." She echoed "Like sprinkles on cookies."
"Aye." Gregor grumbled, Vaera giggled before turning back to Jon.
"It was nice to meet you Jon."
