Twice

In german there's a saying

"You'll always see each other twice"

I'm hoping it's true

Cause I need more time to fall in love with your eyes

I need 30 minutes more

To talk to you

And find out

If there's something new

About the way you shake hands

About the way you look

I need more time to find out about you

And your favourite book

I need a little more time

To find out who you really are

If you prefer train rides

Or rides in a car

You'll always see each other twice

I'm hoping that it's true

Cause I need more time

To get to know you

We only saw each other once

But seeing you was like seeing Rome

After I saw it

I wanted it to be my home

Even if it's true

That we'll see each other twice

I'm afraid

That you won't recognize my eyes.

Little backstory on this one: When I went to Rome with my family and we had to wait about an hour in Como for our train to arrive, me, my brother and his girlfriend talked to this really handsome dude. My brothers girlfriend said that she thinks he would've asked me for my number if I was older (he was 20, I was 15). I also would've asked him for his if we would've been closer in age. So this poem is about hoping to see someone again because the circumstances at the time weren't right.
