After hearing the fact that she had been living a lie for over a year, Darcy left the apartment; she didn't know where she was going, she just knew she couldn't stay there. She didn't even groan in annoyance when she realized she'd left her phone back with her aunt on the coffee table. That meant no updates from Theo, but also no pestering texts from her aunt. She just kept walking and let her feet take her wherever.

After a while, she found herself in downtown Beacon Hills, standing on the sidewalk in front of Sinema. Darcy stared up at the neon sign out front, and her eyes burned at its intensity.

Dark clouds were rolling in from the east, and she could smell the rain in the air. Part of her just wanted to sit down and let the rain wash over her like it could wash everything else away, but the other part of her knew she couldn't. So she just stood there in front of Sinema, listening to the sounds of the city and the beating of her heart.

With a final deep breath, Darcy made like she was going to walk away but something stopped her. Beneath the whistle of the wind and the clamoring of people and their cars was the sound of a fight- fists meeting flesh, claws tearing through skin, grunts of exertion paired with racing hearts.

Her own heart jumped in her chest when she realized it was coming from inside Sinema. She circled around to the back of the building, her steps careful and calculated.

Scott's dirt bike sat in the small parking lot, parked haphazardly across the faded lines. She put more of a hustle in her step and ran up to the back door. When she put a hand on the handle, it swung loosely in her grip- someone else had already broken in. With a shove, she pushed the door open and burst into the club.

The sight in front of her made her pulse skyrocket.

Liam and Scott were grappling with a Dread Doctor, both of them panting with exertion already. Hayden stood toward the back of the room, watching the fight go down. It was obvious who was winning, and it wasn't the werewolves.

Darcy didn't know exactly what was going on, but if she were to guess, she'd say Hayden was a failure and the Dread Doctors were trying to kill her. She ignored the bolt of fear that shot through her and turned her attention away from the fight back to Hayden, only to find the girl not there anymore. She beelined over to where Hayden had been standing and followed her scent.

Hastily shoving aside a fistful of hanging beads, Darcy stepped into one of the back hallways and came face-to-face with a Dread Doctor. In its tight grip was Hayden, her skin turned pale beneath the press of its fingers. Darcy smothered the immediate fear that threatened to overtake her and let her claws push over her fingernails while the fangs in her mouth dropped down. She ran and dove at the Dread Doctor without any preamble, barrelling into him so Hayden could fall away.

It stumbled back one way while Hayden feel another. Before the Dread Doctor could right itself, Darcy swung at it with her claws, putting all of her effort behind the swing. It blocked the attack, though she was pleased to see a bit of strain in its movement. The sight urged her to push harder and use her other arm to slash at its torso with her claws.
