Darcy and Theo sat at a small table, splitting a can of campfire beans between them. They ate silently, and the only sounds were their chewing and their forks occasionally scraping on the metal can. Every last drop had to be consumed- they needed their energy for what came next.

As Darcy ate the dregs of the can, Theo suddenly pushed his chair back. "Come on."

She looked up at him, eyebrows dragged down in confusion. "Where are we going?"

"Somewhere."

She fought not to roll her eyes at his vague answer. Theo was always like that. The two had grown close given their circumstances, even though Theo had had a hand in her kidnapping. She quickly realized that he was in the same hell she was, and he'd been there for longer than she had.

Darcy stood, tossing the can into the garbage- she had no idea who took out the trash, though she suspected it was The Geneticist. He seemed the cleanest out of the three Doctors.

She turned around the table and prepared to follow Theo but a crackle in the air made her stop. Her heart suddenly galloped in her chest and her blood ran cold with fear.

The Dread Doctors made their appearance, rounding one of the walls that separated the lab from their sleeping quarters. The Pathologist had its hand already outstretched and Darcy gasped as its power seized her body and kept her from running away.

She heard Theo round the table, but The Surgeon grabbed her before he could. The paralyzing hold on her body relinquished and she struggled in the Dread Doctor's grip. She looked over at Theo, yelling for him, reaching out a hand for him to take.

His eyes shone yellow as he fought to get her back. "Let go of her!"

He snarled at the Dread Doctor but it simply regarded him like a fly to be swatted. It swung out with a heavy hand and struck Theo across the face. He fell to the floor and could only watch as they carried Darcy away, kicking and screaming.

Last night's events left Darcy with only a little sleep and a strong urge to punch Theo Raeken in the face repeatedly.

"I am never going with you again," she had told him, slightly yelling because she still couldn't hear out of her ears very well. They were in the process of healing and she was too impatient to wait and get her point across.

Afterward, she had begrudgingly got into the truck with Theo and Tracy again, not saying a word the entire time. When she got out to go up to her apartment, she left the truck door open just to be petty.

The only good thing to come out of the night was the fact that Alexa had come home while she was gone and was already asleep in bed, so Darcy hadn't had to argue her way out of a grounding in the middle of the night. She'd fallen into bed, closed her eyes, and then the next moment her alarm was going off.
