mako had asked korra if the offer for them to live on the island still stood and she welcomed them with open arms.
whilst the boat was docking, they could see korra with tenzin's children —jinora (who was only a year younger than ellia ), ikki and melo— all waving to them.
" you're finally here! " ikki excitedly called out. " welcome to air temple island, your new home. "
" yes, welcome to my domain. " meelo said whilst pointing at himself.
" we'll aren't you sweet, little monk child. " bolin said while holding a duffel bag on his shoulder.
" what's that fuzzy creature? " meelo asked as pabu jumped down from bolin's shoulder and ran to naga.
" that is a fire ferret. " jinora pointed out. " an arboreal mammal common to the bamboo forests of the central earth kingdom. "
" he's cute! " ikki squealed as she and meelo ran towards pabu.
" thanks for sending the air acolytes to help us with the move. " mako turned to korra.
" yes, they've been amazing. such tireless workers. " asami complimented.
" oh, i thought you were only bringing a few things. " korra pointed out as the air acolytes walked off the ship with a mountain of luggage, mostly all from asami with only one or two from the lawfey siblings as they had most of their thing in duffel bags.
" trust me, it could've been worse. " mako commented.
" no problem. everyone here wants you guys to feel welcome. " the avatar smiled.

the raven haired looked over to the small boy who was looking at her with heart eyes.
" you're pretty. can i have some of your hair? " meelo asked, holding up his hand.
" looks like i have some competition. " mako remarked, causing elli to giggle slightly.
" and now for the grand tour! " ikki said as they walked into the ground of the temple. " the flying bisons sleep in those huts down there, and that's the temple grandpa aang built, and that's the greenhouse where we grow the vegetables we eat. "
" i have a couple questions. " bolin asked. here we go. " is this an all-vegetarian island? is that where you train air bending? do we have to wear air acolyte clothes? do we each get our own sky bison? and final question, how many trees are on this island? "
" yes, yes, no, no, 10,552. " you had to hand it to her, she was good.
" so where are we gonna be staying? " mako asked, after a moment of silence.
