"Really you didn't think we had anything, anything, to talk about?" Devin questioned, her face contorted in a harsh scowl "You know what that makes complete sense all things considered."

She rose so swiftly I had barely even processed the transition from memory to dream.

"Devin, wait." I stated, meeting her gaze, storm clouds forming as her hallowed breaths were the only sound to fill the room.

I watched her chest rise and fall in a rhythm for a few seconds more before she scoffed at me, a dry humorless laugh escaping as she shook her head in disbelief and then left without another word.

Go after her you idiot, no wake up you idiot!

"Fuck!" I groaned to myself, my eyes screwed tightly shut as I let out a irritated scream

When I opened my eyes I was swept away, or more so dragged, as an older but easily recognizable Kate tightly grabbed my hand and pulled me through a crowded house full of people. She stopped only once we had made it to the kitchen where she promptly grabbed two beers from a cooler and handed one to me.

I've never drank before, is this really the best idea?

Seemingly reading my mind she gave me a reassuring smile "One beer won't kill you."

Great, peer pressure...

To be fair Kate was by far the most level headed of our trio. She had been the voice of reason more times than I could count and this was the first time I'd really ever seen her let loose. She was a three sport athlete and despite having grown up in a rather go with the flow laid back household, she had always enjoyed organization and order. Her mom had always joked she was the family manager if that at all puts it into perspective. Tonight, it just so happened, that this was the first party we had ever had the honor of being invited to and Kate wanted to seem more care free and cool than mature and responsible at this moment.

Wait what the fuck? How did I know that?

"I know." I stated with false confidence as I cracked it open like I had only done with soda previously.

We stood and talked with some people for quite some time, finishing two beers in the process before grabbing a third. As Kate led me into the next room I felt the air leave my lungs. She started telling me some story about something to do with some drama involving someone or another but my focus had shifted. Devin was in the corner looking effortlessly flawless in tight black ripped skinny jeans, a blue and white checkered button up with vans to match, and a black beanie that completed the whole look. My day dream came to a screeching hault as I realized she was clearly flirting with Becca who was my lab partner last year. You know, the same Becca who also happened to be extremely hot and openly bi! Becca's fair skin was scattered with freckles and she was undeniably pretty. She tossed her brown locks over her shoulder as she laughed at something Devin had said, her hazel eyes lighting up. I mean come on the prospects could not be any better and Devin practically had her eating out of her hand judging by the way this girl kept finding excuses to laugh or touch her. I could feel something bubbling up inside of me, my head spinning as I stared at them and then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I am completely jealous of Becca right now.

Whoa, whoa, whoa now calm down there Blake! Last I remember this is still my dream from your point of view!

Upon seeing Devin take Becca's hand and lead her in the direction of the stairs Blake and I silently decided to put aside our differences and focus on the problem at hand.

"Anyone wanna play spin the bottle?" I screamed out, everyone turning to look directly at me.

What the fuck.
