We flew out of Charlotte to head back home early in the morning and despite the lack of sleep I felt more alive than ever. I was seated by the window reading through Blake's journal that Brandon had let me borrow and turned to a particularly interesting entry.
June 20th, 2012
Dear Diary,
Last night Devon and I made love for the first time. I was scared out of my mind at first but she was really sweet and made it really special. It couldn't have been more perfect and damn have I been missing out! Despite that, I'm really glad I waited so that Devon could be my first, and only.
I really really love her and I'm happier than I've ever been. She's perfect for me and I'm glad we've finally found our time to be together. Tonight we're going out to a party and then hopefully coming back to... well I'm sure you can guess what I'm hoping to do again.
Kindly,
Blake
I frantically turned the page and found the remainder of the journal to be blank.
"Carter you should read this, I found an entry from the day they died." I rambled out holding out the journal to her.
Her brows knitted together, her eyes holding a spark of interest as she read.
After a moment she let out a breath, "So they had sex for the first time almost exactly 24 hours before they died?"
She looked up at me, her eyes wide and her face pale.
"You're not worried that's going to happen to us..." I paused, her face unwavering "are you?"
She shrugged, her eyes still holding a crazy glint in them "I mean I don't know, but there sure are a lot of other parallels so I think it's a reasonable fear."
"Let's not panic, okay? We're in this together and I'm sure Beck will know more." I reached out putting my hand on her knee "While there are parallels there are far more differences between our past life and this one."
She nodded and let out a shaky breath "I love you."
"I love you." I smiled in return, "Try to relax, we're almost there and Benny already arranged for us to meet with her as soon as we land."
Forty-five minutes later, as promised, we had landed and we're escorted to a private car. We were then driven straight to Beck's multi-million Dollar mansion and met at the gates by a guard.
Dean rolled down the window and the guard nodded to him "Name?"
"Chase Castro and Carter Castillo." He stated.
The guard nodded once more, clicked a button and the gates slowly swung open.
"Thank you." Dean nodded to the man before rolling the window back up and driving along.
The mansion was extravagant and clearly mediterranean style. There was a large fountain in the front that we parked beside.
I smiled over at Carter and squeezed her hand, "You ready?"
"Yeah let's get this over with." She stated before letting go of my hand so we could both exit the car.
I slammed my door shut behind myself, the sun feeling nice against my skin. Dean led us up to the front door and knocked. The door swung open and yet another guard greeted us with yet another nod.
What is up with guards and nodding?
We stepped inside to the grand entryway and I couldn't help but admire the open floor plan layout and modern decor that welcomed us. There were a number of abstract paintings throughout the space that brought it to life.
