We came down a bumpy dirt drive until we arrived at a beautiful log cabin on a small pond. Fairy lights were strung seemingly every inch of the property and moonlight reflected off the water making the property seem magical.

"This place is beautiful," I whispered out in amazement as I turned to her "is it yours?"

She nodded, "Yes, this property was originally my dad's but the cabin used to be a lot smaller. It resembled more of a shack back in those days."

"Did you grow up here?" I asked curiously.

She nodded, her expression turning grim "We didn't have much when I was a kid. My father was a farmer's hand and my mother, well, she died when I was six and it was really hard to make ends meet but he did his best and put everything he had towards my education and gymnastics."

"It sounds like he made the best out of a really tough situation." I paused debating whether or not to press her further, "If you don't mind me asking, what were your parents like?"

She smiled daringly and laughed to herself "My father was a total goof, he worked hard but that man played harder than anyone. I don't mean drinking or partying or anything like that, as a matter of fact I can't recall a single time seeing him drink or smoke or anything but he was the funniest person I've ever met and he always made me feel so loved." She smiled at the memory before looking over at me, tears evidently about to spill over "He uh, died when I was 17 in a farming accident."

She had lost both of her parents before the age of 18? How did I not know any of this? I guess realistically I hardly know anything about her.

Other than her eyes have been haunting my dreams nightly and she's the media's proclaimed hottest single lesbian athlete play girl extraordinaire.

"I don't remember my mom as well as I wish I could but my dad told me that she was the kindest and most patient person he ever met. She was the kind of person that would just light up a room. She was a nurse but unfortunately she got breast cancer and it was extremely aggressive I guess." She bit her lip, a single tear sliding down her cheek.

I reached over and brushed it away as she smiled and laughed, the beautiful melodic sound that surely was that of an angel.

I smiled back, it's so nice to hear her opening up to me.

"First I just want to say thank you for sharing that with me." I paused and reached over, taking her hand in mine and squeezing it, "You are so strong and I can only imagine how proud your parents would be to see how successful you are as an athlete and the amazing person you grew to be."

She smiled and sniffled slightly, "Thank you, I really appreciate that." She seemed to be glowing until something shifted in her energy and her nose scrunched slightly "I didn't say anything earlier when you shared something personal with me and I'm sorry about that. I think I needed some time to process it because you have honestly been really hot and cold and I'm not saying that as a dig at you."

"You're right, I have been really hot and cold." I nodded, biting my lip "I have never really um, this is awkward to say..."

"I promise I'm not going to judge you, I just want to understand what's going on in that pretty head of yours." She smiled, squeezing my hand and sending a wave of electricity surging through me.

"I have never been as attracted to anyone as I am to you and it scares me, a lot." I paused a bit too long and she opened her mouth to reply so I held my hand up "Wait I have to get this out." She snapped it back shut, her electric gaze set on me "This is going to sound crazy but I've had the same dream over and over again for as long as I can remember and it's been more intense, more real lately." I paused, gauging her reaction as intrigued thus far, "I've been having the dream more and more frequently lately as well."
