Anna tackled me like an NFL linebacker the minute she spotted me.

"Are you trying to kill me?" I groaned as I loosely hugged her back, her grip tightening even more as my spine felt like it could snap at any moment.

She laughed and finally released me, the air finally able to make it to my lungs where it belongs, "I missed you! I've hardly spoken to you in three months!"

"Killing me isn't going to help!" I joked, causing her to roll her eyes.

"Still a bitch I see," she teased before waggling her eyebrows "so give me the deets on you and Devin."

I could feel the heat instantly rising to my cheeks "Well we're officially dating now and things have been going good."

"Have you guys, ya know, yet?" She questioned, her eyes set on me as she patiently awaited the answer like it was the secret to life.

My cheeks were definitely bright red at this point "No we haven't had sex if that's what you're asking."

"Boring." She grumbled as she collapsed back onto her bed.

I rolled my eyes and felt my phone vibrate. I reached into my pocket and pulled it out to see a text from my mother.

Mom: Miss you already kiddo <3

Her lack of using actual emojis had always amused me but it really was sweet how she typed out smiley faces and hearts regardless.

Me: I miss you too mom ❤️

Mom: Probably not as much as you miss your girllllfriend (;

I scrunched up my nose, ew my mom just sent me a winky face.

Me: Please never send me a winky face again.

Mom: No promises (;

I laughed and shook my head, looking up to find Anna to be nowhere in sight. I was seated criss-cross on my bed, my phone in hand as music played lightly over the small speaker on my nightstand. I looked down at the screen and clicked on Devin's contact before typing out a message.

Me: Hey beautiful I miss you already

I set my phone down and closed my eyes as I laid back into the comfort of my pillow that a weak hint of her perfume still lingered on it. I took a deep breath and a thick smoke filled my nostrils. I coughed harshly as I opened my eyes to find myself sitting in a different dorm room with a couple other students. Anna was directly on my right and some girl with jet black hair on my left. She was dressed head to toe in all black that contrasted against her pale skin. She had on a thick layer of makeup that wasn't quite properly blended. Her hickory eyes peered over, setting on me as she held out a cigarette, a cloud of smoke escaping her black cherry painted lips.

She smirked at me, her pure white teeth on full display "Would you like a drag?"

"No thank you." I stated, unable to stop myself from scrunching my nose ever so slightly from the stale stench.

She shrugged and took another long drag before turning to the girl on her left and passing it.

I leaned in closer to Anna and whispered "So these are your friends you wanted me to meet so badly?"

She turned to glare at me and mouthed "Can you not be rude?"

I rolled my eyes and looked across to see Matteo, his curly hair wild tonight and shielding his green eyes that were focused on rolling a blunt atop a paper plate. As soon as he'd finished he put it between his lips and lit the end, swirling the lighter slightly to avoid it from canoeing. He exhaled, a cloud of white smoke mixing with the silvery cigarette smoke that had previously been the sole occupier of the space.
