Wave's POV:

With a loud boom, the entrance behind us collapsed, trapping us in the cave. I spun around and was extremely surprised at what had just happened.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, NO!" Moon screamed, banging her paws against the rocks.

She began to cry a little, obviously scared about being locked in here. After a moment, I placed my paw on her shoulder causing her to open her eyes and look at me.

"It's okay." I told her, trying to sound calm despite being scared myself "We'll get out of here. Maybe there's an exit further back. If you want to wait here though, I understand."

Moon stood there for a minute, thinking. Finally she turned to look at me and nodded. I noticed that she made sure to stay as close to me as she could without actually touching me. It made me feel weird, her being so close to me, but I shrugged it off and began leading the way into the darkness, Moon's glowing rings the only source of light. Walking further into the darkness, I noticed that the floor began to slope downwards.

"Just a heads up, the floor starts to dip so be careful." I told Moon.

She made a gulping sound and nodded, her eyes filled with fear. Moving down now, we continued going deeper into the cave. The only sound we could hear was the echoing of our pawsteps and the sound of our breathing.

Hoping to lighten the mood I decided to ask Moon some questions.

"So uh" I began "what made you decide to become an Umbreon?"

"Oh. Well....I really like night and the stars. I was also named after the Moon so it seemed fitting." Came the reply. "What about you."

I was quiet as I thought. I reached into the deepest part of my mind and found....nothing.

"I....I'm not sure actually. I don't really remember choosing my Eeveelution." I admitted.

"Really? That's usually one of the big things about being an Eevee. Did you not go to a huge ceremony to chose?"

"Kind of. It's all very vague and blurry but I do have a faint image of me going to something like that."

"I see. Do you remember anything about your childhood?" Moon looked at me and by the light of her rings, I could tell she was a bit concerned.

"I....no not really. I remember having parents, friends....but no. I don't remember much. The farthest back I can remember is arriving here in Sunspire Town as a Vaporeon."

"Huh. Well, I hope you remember everything someday. And if I can help you with that, let me know."

"Yeah. Me too."

Returning to silence, we forged on, fully relying on Moon's rings to see where to go. Well, at least I was. The cave stretched on for what seemed like miles. My paws started to hurt from walking on the uneven rocky floor.

"How long do you think we've been down here?" I asked.

"I'm not sure. I'd say at least an hour."

"Heh. I'm sure Branch is worried about us now."

"Yeah."

I had noticed awhile back that the cave seemed more wet than it was at the entrance, and as we pressed forward, I knew why.

"Holy Miltank." I heard Moon say.

"Sweet mother of pearl." I agreed, gazing out across the large body of water before us. Water dripped from stalactites and into the pool. A few glowing patches of algae on the ceiling lit the cave up ever so slightly, aiding Moon's rings in making everything visible. There was no bridge as far as I could see, and there was no viewable bottom in the water either.
