Fair warning guys, this chapter is going to be my most bloody and gory chapter yet. You have been warned.
Wave's POV:
Wave. Help me. Please.
I sat up and looked around with a start. I was laying in a medical bed, surrounded by tables with different berries and medical supplies on them.
"Where's Moon?" I asked.
A Frogadier next to the bed turned to me and gave me a kind smile. "She is at her den, I believe. Don't worry. Just rest up for now."
"Is she safe?"
"I'm not sure. But if it makes you feel any better, your Alolan Sandslah friend went to go check on her. He said you might be worried about her." The Frogadier folded his arms and sighed.
"Where's Burn?"
"He should be in the room nextdoor. The Bayleef is looking after him right now."
I nodded before blankly staring at my bedsheets, my mind racing. I looked up when I heard footsteps approaching.
An Audino with a nurse's hat stepped into the room and smiled at me. She then motioned for the Frogadier to leave. "Thank you Tad. Wave should be fine from now on, so please, return to your post."
The Frogadier bowed and thanked the normal type before leaving. The Audino gave me another smile. "Are you feeling better?" She asked. As she waited for my answer, she busied herself with cleaning up the room.
"Yeah I am. My whole body kind of hurt's, but I'll manage."
"That must mean the oran berries are working."
She began cleaning off a syringe with a wipe before grabbing a bottle of blue liquid and pouring it into the syringe. She walked over to me and put the liquid in my shoulder, making me feel less achy. I thanked her and laid back down in bed. The Audino was about to leave when Sandy came running into the room, panting heavily.
I sat up and gave him a questioning look. "What's wrong Sandy?" I asked.
"Comrade Wave! Moon has been taken!" The Alolan Sandslash answered.
My heart stopped. "W-what? By who?"
"I believe it was the Thievul Swift." Sandy replied, his face serious. "He took Comrade Moon deep into the forest. I could not keep up with them. I am sorry."
I jumped out of bed, ignoring the sharp pain erupting all over my body. "I have to go after her!"
The Audino nurse tried to stop me, a concerned look on her face. "Wave, you're not fully healed yet. You could get hurt more badly! You need to stay here and rest."
But I didn't listen. I had to save Moon.
I bolted out of the room and down the hall, the shouting of the Audino sounding from behind me. I ran past two Chanseys who cried out in alarm at my sudden appearance before I continued running out of the medical center. I could hear more Pokémon call after me, but I ignored them all as I ran through Sunspire. Several Pokémon gave me looks as I ran past, but I also ignored them. I did notice how there weren't very many Pokémon out in the town, most likely because of the events of yesterday. As I crossed the bridge into Sunspire Forest, I felt a drop of water hit my head and then another. I looked up as it started to rain. In my haste to save Moon, I hadn't realized the clouds above were a dark grey, almost black. The sky poured down upon me and I almost slipped in the wet grass several times. The water did help to heal several of my scars, but not by much.
I pushed through the underbrush of the forest, my mind focused solely on finding Moon. The forest seemed to stretch on forever. I ran past tree after tree, bush after bush, blindly trying to find my precious Umbreon. I decided to begin following the stream up towards the mountains, hoping Swift and Moon would be that way. As I ran, memories of Moon and everything we had done together began to flash through my head.
