OmniscientFlicking on the light upon their entrance to Tiana's apartment, Journee followed the woman inside. "Anything you need, you don't have to ask, it's yours to use." She placed her keys inside the green stained glass bowl on the kitchen counter. "C'mon, I'll show you where everything is."
Leading Journee into her bedroom, Tiana flicked on that light as well. "There's two bathrooms, and they should have everything you may need, but if not then let me know. I'll lend you my clothes for tonight since Frank's bringin' your things tomorrow." Opening her drawer to the tall wooden dresser, she glanced over her shoulder. "You want the shorts set or the pants set?"
"Shorts, please..." Journee emitted a gracious grin as Tiana handed them to her, and she stilled on an inhale once their fingers touched upon the exchange. Then she watched as Tiana cleared her throat before going into the bathroom next.
"Unfortunately, I only have one shower," she chuckled to herself as Journee followed inside. "It's impractical for company, I know-"
"No, it's more than fine," the singer exhaled a faint smile. "You live alone, so I wouldn't expect anything else really."
"Right," Tiana chuckled along. "Alright, well we'll come back here, I'm sure you're exhausted so I won't take long."
"I'm not sure I'll feel it until I sit down," Journee responded, prompting them to share a laugh while heading to the kitchen. "If anything I'm starvin-"
"What you wanna eat, I can cook you somethin' real quick."
"Oh no, I wasn't-"
"Journee..." Stepping closer to the woman, Tiana reached for her hand and gazed into her eyes. "There's no goin' back now honey you've already said somethin, so, tell me what you wanna eat..."
As Journee's eyes trailed down to their joined hands, Tiana followed the her gaze. Figuring it made her uncomfortable, she immediately withdrew, offering an apologetic inhale.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"No," Journee reached for her hand again, squeezing and stepping closer. "I just, I really appreciate you Tee... I'm more grateful for this than you know..."
Attempting to sustain a mere smile, Tiana shrugged a shoulder. "You done enough thankin' me for one night honey. I told you, it's no problem, really-"
"You should smile more," Journee whispered, then smirked as Tiana seemed to be caught off guard. "It's too beautiful for you to be hidin' it all the time sweetheart..."
A smile of her own tugged her lips as she watched Tiana turn away to hide her blush.
"Just tell me what you wanna eat Rose-" Journee chuckled while Tiana struggled to open the refrigerator. "And quit laughin-"
"I'm not I promise," she held her hands up with a teasing smile.
The rest of the night went smoothly as they proceeded with the apartment's tour. Tiana then went to make Journee a midnight snack while the woman took a shower in her bathroom. Once she finished and had come out of the room, she thanked Tiana with a hug for the food and everything else.
Their embrace lingered, with fault to both women as they slowly stepped away from each other. Their eye contact had become intense as they found themselves nose to nose, but before their lips could connect, both women looked away.
Only thoughts of each other, and everything about one another, remained as Journee proceeded to eat while Tiana took her shower next.
And those thoughts carried both women into slumber as one slept in the bedroom and the other took the well made sofa.
