~ Over A Month Later ~

Omniscient

Before they'd known it, time had flown by as they were now almost two months into touring. Seven states were down, and they had about fifteen more to go. By now, the show ran as smooth as water, each member practically able to perform their parts in their sleep.

It only seemed to get better each night.

On Journee's tour bus, for Tina's was leading in front while on the road, most of the crew was sound asleep, for they'd been driving for about three hours now with three more to go still. At around five am that morning, they boarded on from Baltimore, Maryland, with NYC being their next destination. Not to mention their last show was just the previous night, meaning just about the entire crew could hardly keep their eyes open.

They had two nights in this next location, with three days total. And everyone was most excited for it because of the anticipation of seeing the Big Apple, as well as the famous Carnegie Hall.

The venue was sold out for tonight, leaving every person a part of the show a tinge nervous, though excited more than anything. They were living their dreams after all.

In the last row of the back of the bus, Tiana and Journee sat together, fast asleep under a shared blanket. No one paid it any mind, which they were thankful for, since most of the crew was bundled up just the same way while sleeping. That was how close they'd grown as time had progressed.

Turned with her back to the window as a pillow cushioned her, Journee had her legs extended across the seat to drape over Tiana's thighs as the woman was snuggled up to her side with her head on her chest. Under the blanket, their fingers were interlaced, tucked between their bodies so it'd be easier to discreetly separate if need be. A scarf dressed both their heads to protect their hair, for they wore lounge wear along with everyone else.

Across the bus aisle, on the seat on the left of theirs, was Mickey, wearing a durag and a robe with some slippers that the crew thought hilarious on him. He got a seat to himself, which he had no troubles boasting about, then fending off with his life once they tried to shut him up.

He'd grown pretty close to the couple over time as well, given he knew of their truth as they knew of his.

Being the first to wake after about two more hours, he sat up with a bit of a stretch before craning his neck behind him to get a view of the city in passing.

The city of dreams and creativity, they call it. Where anything's possible no matter who you are or where you came from. Where day and night intervene, and the people carry just as many stories as the streets they walk on.

Mickey couldn't believe his eyes as he blinked away the sleepiness from them, witnessing the towering buildings and famous signs he thought he'd only ever see on television.

He thought back to every person that said he'd never be anything. That said the world didn't have not a finger to offer a sissy, and that he was better off dead. His own family, his own parents, looked at him with such disgrace for embracing who he was. For pursuing his dreams. They shunned him away and told him to never come back.

And so he didn't. And for the first time since that day, Mickey smiled when thinking back on those words. Oh if only they could see him now...

Next to rise from slumber was Journee, who inhaled subtly with a slight stir as her eyes fluttered open. She looked around briefly to observe her surroundings, then she focused ahead to the view beyond Mickey's window, her eyes blinking in awe.
