Backstory: in life, Chess was Alastor's brother, growing up with him in New Orleans. When he was a teen, he opened a parlor and began practicing Voodoo.
Though he didn't usually use it for malicious purposes, spending so much time with cards led him to become proficient in poker, so he gambled often and cheated many powerful people out of money.
He showed up at Alastor's home one rainy night in 1927, blood splattered on him with his trusty baseball bat at his side, slick with red. He gave his brother a calm smile "take care of Ma when I'm gone, some big wigs think I'm a bit big for my britches, so I don't think you'll be seeing me anymore."
A week later he was found dead, killed by the mob he cheated one too many times, his trusty bat just a little too far away.

In hell, he's a powerful demon, though not an overlord. He first met Charlie when he took cover from the rain near her one night, and they became fast friends. He's known her longer then Vaggie, and has always been on board with the idea of redemption

Personality: Chess is smart and quick witted, never one to loose an opportunity. He's surprisingly nice for an overlord, never really using the souls he owns. He enjoys Jazz and, just like before, playing cards and winning bets
Rumor has it he's in love with someone, nobody knows who though.
Alastor briefly mentioned he caught him dancing with someone once, though he won't say who exactly

Supposedly he used to date Vox, which ended in a messy breakup, leading to a very sour Chess hating being on video at all
Rumor has it he's exclusively dating someone at the moment, but he hasn't said anything about it

Under his hood is unknown, only one person has seen it, aside from Alastor. According to him, the scar from his death is gruesome, so he hides his face
