The sun was slowly setting; getting ready to kiss the pink sky goodnight. It's slowly fading light glimmered in the colorful sky that was gradually being overtaken with darkness.
Jason and I sat on the edge of the beach, where the golden sand met the water's touch. The sand beneath us was warm and it felt good. The gentle breeze blew throughout my hair and reached my face with a cool touch.
The evening was quiet and peaceful. And there we sat--watching the gorgeous sunset.
Jason and I had come down to the beach to talk. But we had talked much longer than planned. And so when the daylight began to escape the sky, we decided to watch the sunset. And it was beautiful. We sat there, not talking. Just watching. There were no words left to be said. We had spent the entire afternoon talking and now, with no conversation left, we sat in silence. With a mutual admiration of the evening's beauty.
The water glimmered from the light and wind both resting themselves on the water's surface.
It was beyond beautiful. It was breathtaking.
I figured that to most people this experience was probably considered a date. But I didn't care. And I knew that a lot of the other students at college thought that I was Jason's girlfriend. But I didn't care about that either. Let them think what they want. As long as Jason and I were still at an understanding, I didn't care about everyone else.

*Jason's P.O.V *(Yup! I knew you guys liked it last time when I put it in his P.O.V so...)
As I sat there beside Serenity, I inwardly sighed with contentment. She was a beautiful girl. And even though she didn't say it, I knew she was happy. I loved seeing her happy.
For the past three weeks, I couldn't get her out of my mind. I found myself thinking about her when I was supposed to be working. I found myself thinking about her in class. And just about the rest of my day too. I knew she was comfortable around me now and I was happy about that.
She had said that she couldn't tell if she liked me. And I was fine with that. I'd be patient with her. And even if she could never like me in that way. As long as she was happy, I was happy.
I looked at her. She had layed her head on my shoulder and I had wrapped my arm around her. Her eyes were sparkling as she looked out at the water. Her eyelashes fluttered when she blinked. She looked like she was going to fall asleep.
Even though her eyes showed that she was happy, I hadn't seen her smile since the day that I had asked her to come with me to the movie. I knew it was because of all the pain and confusion. But I wanted to see her smile again.
I looked back out at the ocean. There was so much pain in Serenity's life. Considering everything she told me, her troubles were like a wave coming over her life and overtaking her. But I believed that together, and with the help of Jesus, we could walk on water. Jesus would calm the waves in her life, and together we'd soar above it all, no longer sinking but walking on water.
I knew she didn't know what to think about Christianity and about God. But I knew that she was at least thinking about it. She wanted hope. And I knew that Jesus would give her that hope. All she had to do was trust.

Back to Serenity's P.O.V
Jason had walked me home. And before I turned to walk into my apartment complex, Jason said, "I'll be praying for you."
I had never had anyone say that to me before and it surprised me. It didn't know how to take it. Or what to think about it. But I finally decided that it was a good thing.
"Thank you." I said softly.
