I stepped outside and headed to my car. I was going to go over to the hospital to help watch Jason's siblings. With my hand on the door to the car, I paused a moment. And then, I lifted my head to the sky. "Thank you." I whispered.

As soon as I walked into the waiting room, Alyssa ran up to me and hugged me. Then, she pulled away and looked up at me. "Did mommy tell you? Jason's going to be okay! Mommy says it's a miracle."
I smiled slightly. "Yes. Yes, I believe it was."

These three children were way easier to deal with on my own than I had imagined. They were pretty easy to entertain. With Dillion sitting beside me on one side, Alyssa on the other side, and Asher in my arms, the only thing I had to do to entertain them was to keep cradling Asher and to keep talking to the other two.
And it was pretty easy to talk to them. Alyssa seemed to do most of the talking anyway.
Alyssa and Dillion started telling me stories of some of the things that Jason said about me. And it seemed that he really did talk about me a lot. They said that even though Jason went to collage, he always came home on weekends and went to church with them on Sundays.
"Jason wants you to come to church with us." Alyssa said. "Are you going to come with us sometime?"
"I don't know...Jason hasn't asked me to come."
"He wanted to ask you. But he said that he doesn't want to push it on you."
"Oh...well, maybe I'll come sometime..."

The few days of Jason being in the hospital passed quickly. Jason's mom told me that he'd be coming home today. He was completely healed. Back to normal. The doctors said that they had never seen anything like it. They'd never seen anyone recover so quickly. Especially from such a near fatal accident.
I was going to be going over to Jason's family's house to see him.
I arrived at their house and walked up the steps to the front door. I rang the doorbell.
As I stood there, waiting for the door to be opened, I looked out at the horizon. The sun was hidden by the clouds. It looked like it might rain again today. But if it rained, this time I'd be ready. I was dressed much better this time.
There was something that I wanted to tell Jason. Something that had been on mind for a few days --ever since Jason was healed. Ever since the miracle had happened. I had something very important to tell him.
The door opened. I had expected to see his mom, but instead it was Jason himself. My face lit up. I threw my arms around him, hoping that it wasn't too awkward. "Oh," I whispered. "I didn't think that you were going to make it...I'm soo happy you're okay."
He wrapped his arms around me. And he gave me a tight but gentle hug. If that was possible. "Oh, it's so good to see you." I could hear the smile in his voice.
I looked up at him and for once, I smiled. Not a half smile. Not a fake smile. But a true and genuine smile. Just like his.
