Arabella POV
I woke up in a cage of Sebastian's arms. He came to me in such a state last night- I had never seen him so emotional before. The way he cried broke my heart. But the way he kissed me after, the way he worshiped my body...
And then he said that he loved me.
I had stopped his confession earlier in the night because saying it out loud made it real. Too real. But I wasn't fully asleep when he whispered the words into my hair. I wasn't ready to confront him about it, so I would let him believe that I was, in fact, asleep.
We had quite the journey ahead of us, so I attempted to wake Seb. I could barely move with the way he was holding me, but I managed to squirm around and face him. He was so broad, I couldn't help but run my hand up his stomach to feel the muscles that contracted there. I placed a delicate kiss on his bare chest and he shifted a little. He looked so peaceful laying there, lips slightly parted and in the tiniest smile. I leaned in to kiss him lightly and his eyes finally began to open.
"Morning, sleepyhead."
He responded by tightening his grip on me and pulling me on top of him.
"Ten more minutes."
"Seb! Don't you want to find the relic and see Anne? We have to get going."
"Fine. Kiss me." I smiled down at him and dragged myself forward to reach his lips.
"If you kiss me like that again we won't be leaving this bed today. Up you go!" He rolled me off of him so I was laying on my back again and climbed over me to stand up.
"Hello Sallow." Oh Merlin. Imelda was awake.
"Reyes."
I rolled out of bed after him. "I'm sorry Imelda, I thought you might still be asleep."
"It's ok love, at least someone is getting some."
"Imelda!"
"What?! If he's not satisfying you, you could always crawl into my bed darling."
"I would very much like to see that," Sebastian chimed in. I slammed him in the ribs and he winced in pain and laughed.
"You two are incorrigible. I'm going to the bathroom to change so neither of you can look."
"Damnit Reyes!" Sebastian chastised her as I closed the door behind me.
+++Sebastian and I decided to fly to Feldcroft first, say our hellos, then go search for the relic. We were both worried that if we looked for the relic first, we may have some bruises and battle scars that weren't easily explained.
I let him fly so I could relax. Of course, I was still the better flier, but Sebastian was also excellent. I rested my head against his back and held onto his waist as he kicked off into the cool air. There wasn't any snow around Hogwarts, but I had a feeling we may encounter some as we flew north.
"Seb, are you going to tell me what happened last night, with Ominis?" I felt him stiffen against me before relaxing again.
"I told Ominis about the book and the relic. He warned me to stay away from it and from Dark Magic and said there's nothing I can do to cure Anne and I should give up."
I placed a kiss on his back and squeezed him tighter.
"I'm sorry, Seb. I don't understand what's gotten into him. But we will find something. We'll do everything we can. And if my magic can help, I won't hesitate to use it." He pulled my hand up to his lips and kissed it. We flew the rest of the way in silence.
