Sebastian POV

It had been a week since the Scriptorium incident.

A long bloody week.

All week, I stayed locked in the Undercroft to study Salazar's spellbook and to avoid Ominis and Arabella. I would never forgive myself for what I did to her, what I did to both of them. They both supported in different ways since I began my journey to save Anne, and I thanked them by learning and using and teaching Unforgivable curses.

More than anything, I wanted to apologize to Ara. Back in the Feldcroft catacomb, I told her that the caster needed to really mean it for an Unforgivable curse to work. I could only imagine what she must think of me once I successfully cast Crucio on her. The memory tore away at my sanity, threatening to drive me mad. I needed to send an owl.

Arabella POV

I would recognize Sebastian's owl anywhere. With the amount of letters he sent me this year, how could I not? The letter fell into my lap while Ominis and I were at dinner in the Great Hall. I hadn't seen Sebastian in a full week and I was desperate to find him.

Ara,

You have no reason to see me right now, but I desperately need to see you. If you can bear the sight of me, please meet me in the Undercroft tonight.

Every word stung more than the next. Did he truly believe I would be appalled by the sight of him? I needed to see him, to comfort him, to share the blame of what happened in the Scriptorium with him. Ominis was napping on the table next to me, so he missed the entire owl exchange. He did look quite adorably angelic when he slept.

This past week with Ominis had been glorious. We weren't eager to put our relationship on display in front of the whole school, but we snuck glances or touches or kisses every chance we got. In Potions earlier in the week, which Sebastian never showed up to, we even had a sneaky encounter in the ingredients closet.

Earlier that week...

Sharp asked Ominis to accompany me to the ingredients closet because one of the ingredients we needed was on the top shelf, which I clearly could not reach. Rude. Ominis gently pressed his hand against my lower back as I fiddled with the door handle and swung it open. His touch ignited me and filled me with warmth and desire all at once.

We entered the closet and Ominis closed the door behind me. I tried to walk forward but he had a grip on the back of my robe, causing me to stumble backwards into his arms. With my back still to him, he wrapped his arms tight around my waist and pressed hot kisses into my neck.

"Ominis! We'll be caught!" I giggled as the kiss assault did not let up.

He spoke with his lips pressed against my neck: "I don't bloody well care. I can't keep my hands off you."

"Let me help you then." I grabbed his hands from around my waist and twisted my body to face him, using the force of my turn to throw him off balance and push him against the door. I pressed his arms to his sides and held his wrists tightly so he couldn't move.

"There, now they're off of me." I pressed the entire front of my body against his and felt him squirm against me as I took away one of his four remaining senses. His breath was hot on my face.

"You can't hold me here, you know. I'm much stronger than you."

I smirked, and I knew he could tell. "Try me."

I knew he could hear where the sound of my voice was coming from as he leaned his head down and captured me in a surprise kiss, which caused me to lose my hold on his wrists. Once free, he quickly shifted our positions so I was the one pressed against the door as he held both of my wrists over my head.
