- Jordan's POV -
"They're beautiful." I mutter, rubbing the mane of the horse I'm riding on as we slowly begin our journey to Polis. "They are indeed, Jordan. It's unfortunate that you're only just now able to experience being around them." Lexa tells me from her own horse next to mine."It is, but it's intriguing. This whole world is." I say, taking in the scenery of the wildlife around me. The tall and healthy trees, the cloudy but sunny sky that's trying its best to peek through the dense greenery overhead. "It was beautiful from the Ark... what I can remember at least. But this... this is another level of beauty."
"Yes. The Earth has healed since its unfortunate destruction nearly a century ago, and it's more beautiful than it was said to be." Lexa explains and I nod in agreement.
"I wish Clarke could see this." I mutter.
"Clarke?" Lexa questions.
"Yeah." I answer, sighing. "That's my sister."
"Oh." She says and I nod.
Thinking of Clarke makes me wonder what's going on up there...
- Third Person POV -
Abby stares blankly at the screen in the medical lab that is flashing Transmission Failed over a photo and vitals of her oldest daughter. It's been three days since her daughter's vitals spiked and then the transmission failed. Although she knows it could be a fluke, she's come to the realization that it's probably best to now tell her husband and youngest child. How to tell them? She has no clue.
Absolutely no clue how to tell her family that Jordan was sent to Earth to die, and how she'd let this happen instead of her having a retrial like everyone else.
"Abby." She hears as someone shakes her shoulder lightly. Seeing a younger man, she notices it's Jackson standing before her. "You should head home. Tell them." He tells her.
"I was about to." She nods, standing. "I'll be back in the morning."
"I'm sorry." Jackson apologizes, causing Abby to pause before the doors. "Yeah, me too." She nods before exiting the medical lab.
She makes the walk back to her unit, finding her husband at a desk against the wall with paperwork littering it.
"Jake, is Clarke here?" She questions, shutting the door.
He looks over with a smile at his wife's voice but it quickly fades seeing her bloodshot eyes and the bags under them.
"No, but what's up?" He questions, standing and walking over to her, taking her face in his hands gently.
"Clarke should be here for what I need to say..." She takes a deep breath.
"It's about Jordan, isn't it?" He questions sadly, the concern and fear evident in his eyes. She gives a nod as her eyes water, not wanting to lie. "What happened? We can tell Clarke when she is home later. What happened, Abby?" His voice breaks, afraid for what has come of his oldest daughter.
"She uhm... she was sent to Earth by the Chancellor." She begins, her voice faltering as she cannot meet the eyes of her husband. "And she was given a metal band that transmits one's vitals back to me, but the transmission failed after her vitals spiked."
Jake tried to take in the information to comprehend it the best he can, but it's not fully making sense to him.
"So... J- Jordan's dead?" He questions, unsure.
All she can do to answer is nod and with a shaky exhale he pulls her into a warm and tight embrace.
"She's gone." Abby cries. "Our baby."
