- Jordan's POV -
When I stir from my restless sleep, the remnants of exhaustion are still clinging to me. I blink slowly, my eyes adjusting to the dim, golden light.

Lexa is already awake, seated at a low wooden table near the entrance. Her eyes, though tired, are focused intently on the papers and maps spread before her. The shadows under her eyes speak of at least a few sleepless nights. As I slowly and painfully sit up, Lexa looks up from her work, her expression shifting from concentration to worry.

"Morning." She says, her voice soft but carrying an undertone of concern. "How are you feeling today?"

I since slightly as I move, a constant reminder of the injuries I have sustained. "I'm... better. Thank you for everything last night."

Lexa crosses the room swiftly, her movements imbued with both urgency and care. She helps me sit up more comfortably, her fingers brushing away stray strands of hair from my face. "You've been through a lot. We need to make sure you're properly taken care of."

My gaze shifts to Jake, still sleeping soundly beside me on the cushioned bedding. The boy's small frame is covered with a thin blanket, and he seems at peace despite the chaos of our previous day.

"He's alright." I say softly, a trace of relief in my voice. "He just needs to rest."

Lexa nods, her eyes softening as she looks at the boy. "We'll make sure he gets everything he needs. For now, you should focus on resting and recovering yourself."

The outside world begins to intrude as the camp outside stirs to life. The sounds of early risers, the clatter of utensils, and the murmurs of the daily activities filter through the thin fabric of the tent. My thoughts are preoccupied with yesterday's events, the sudden reappearance of my son.

The curtain of the tent is suddenly lifted, and Indra steps inside. Her expression is stern and intense, the urgency in her demeanor unmistakable. "Lexa, we need to talk."

Lexa's gaze sharpens as she straightens up, her earlier fatigue momentarily forgotten. "What's happened?"

Indra's voice is low but carries a weight of urgency. "It's best we speak outside."

Lexa turns to me, her face a mixture of resolve and concern. "You need to stay here with him. The situation outside is too dangerous right now. I'll make sure you're updated as soon as we have more information."

My eyes meet Lexa's. "I understand. Just... be careful out there."

With a brief, reassuring glance, Lexa follows Indra out of the tent, leaving me alone with Jake. I watch them go, my heart heavy with worry. The sounds of the camp grow more pronounced as the day progresses, punctuated by distant shouts and the clang of metal.

I remain in the tent, trying to keep my mind occupied with small tasks-ensuring my son is comfortable, organizing supplies, and reflecting on the events that have unfolded. The hours seem to stretch on endlessly, each moment filled with the anxiety of not knowing what was happening outside.

The curtain of the tent lifts again, and Lexa reenters, her face a portrait of exhaustion and thought. She moves swiftly to me, her eyes scanning me with a mix of concern and gratitude.

I slowly stand, her hands there to grab mine to quickly steady me as we walk over towards one of the tables so I can sit without issue.

"We've dealt with the situation." She says, her voice carrying a note of both relief and weariness. "But it is not for you to worry about. But although I'd rather you stay in here and rest, tonight your presence is required for Finn's punishment."
