Lexa's gaze burns into me, her green eyes reflecting both determination and a deep-seated fear she rarely allows to surface anymore. The tension between us is almost suffocating, a palpable force that neither of us can ignore. I can feel my pulse quicken as I struggle to find the right words, my mind racing with the implications of Lexa's ultimatum.

"Lexa." I begin, my voice strained. "You can't ask me to choose between you and everything else that matters to me. You know that's not fair."

Lexa's expression remains stony, but a flicker of emotion passes through her eyes—hurt, frustration, maybe even desperation. "It's not about what's fair, Jordan. She replies evenly. "It's about loyalty. About knowing where you stand."

I take a step closer, my frustration bubbling over. "And I've stood by you, Lexa. I've fought for Trikru, bled for Trikru. But you're asking me to turn my back on people I care about. On Octavia, on my sister—"

"They are not Trikru," Lexa interrupts, her tone hard. "And this is war. Loyalties are tested. Lines are drawn."

I clench my fists at my sides, my heart aching as I try to process the harsh reality of Lexa's words. "You think I don't understand that?" I shoot back, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and sorrow. "I've lost people too, Lexa. I've made sacrifices. But that doesn't mean I can just shut off my feelings, or pretend that everyone outside of Trikru doesn't matter."

Lexa's expression softens just slightly, but the intensity in her eyes doesn't waver. "It's not about shutting off your feelings, Jordan. It's about understanding the consequences of your choices. You can't be on both sides. Not anymore."

My breath hitches as Lexa's words strike deep, the ultimatum echoing in my mind. I know what Lexa is saying, but it felt like a betrayal—a demand that I cut ties with everything that makes me who I am, that I forsake the people I love.

"I can't... I won't betray who I am." I whisper, my voice hoarse with emotion. "I love you, Lexa, but I can't become someone I'm not."

Lexa's gaze softens further, a hint of pain flashing across her features. "I'm not asking you to change who you are, Jordan." She says quietly. "But I need to know that you're with me, that you're committed to our people. To this fight. I need to know where your loyalties lie."

I stare at Lexa, torn between the love I feel for her and the impossible choice I am being forced to make. The silence between us grows heavier, charged with unspoken words and the weight of our shared history.

"I'm with you, Lexa,." I finally say, my voice barely above a whisper. "But I can't abandon the people I care about. I can't just forget what's right."

Lexa's expression tightens, the conflict in her eyes clear. "Then you need to decide what's more important, Jordan." She says, her voice laced with a mixture of sadness and resolve. "Because this war will tear you apart if you try to hold onto everything."

I feel a lump in my throat, the reality of Lexa's words sinking in. I know that this us a turning point, that whatever choice I make will have lasting consequences for both of us—and for everyone around us.

The silence stretches on, neither of us willing to break it, both caught in the gravity of the moment.

Not until we hear sudden commotion outside.

"The signal!" A grounder announces.

"Commander, come quick." Another shouts as she and I share a look. I'm quick to turn first, heading out of the tent to see what's going on exactly, her quickly following. We meet with Clarke outside, all gazing towards the glare from Mount Weather.
