EVERYONE WAS CURRENTLY in a conference room for the small intermission they had between games one and two
some of the tournament managers were in the room, discussing with cam and zeddy about how if they couldnt get the crowd under control they couldnt play and would have to take a loss
which was the last thing everyone wanted. a loss over the crowd was stupid
nelson sat next to nico, his head on her shoulder while she drank some cherry pepsi. they sat with lavar, nikki and mallory.
"i dont wanna take a loss, bro." nelson whined, his voice quiet, he was mainly talking to himself but since his head was near nicos ear, she heard him.
nico patted his leg, her hand resting comfortably on his thigh. "i know baby" she spoke softly, her lips pressing a kiss to his hair
mallory smiled at the couple. "i dont think cam is willingly taking a loss" the girl tried to reassure nelson who just shrugged weakly
nico nodded in agreement, "yeah nels, you know cam, he'll only take a loss if thats the only option."
nelson bit his lip, "what if it is the only option ?"
"then you work with it, you continue to win and hope you can make it to the championship" nico told her irritated boyfriend
the boy removed his head from nicos shoulder, running his hands over his sweaty face. nico tilted her soda, signaling for him to drink some
nelson told a sip to satisfy nico. she hadnt seen her boyfriend drink much today so she took it upon herself to have him atleast drink something
"cmon yall, its time to go out now ! huddle up real quick" cam called out, everyone surrounding him and ray.
cam began to give instructions. "listen, when we get on the court: i dont need yall taking pictures, i dont need yall talking to them, laughing, smiling. anything thats going to entice them to get on the court, its gonna be a collective effort, we're gonna play but if we dont get them off the court, we're gonna take a loss and we cant play the game." cam explained
he took a breath before continuing. "so when yall get our there, no fucking pictures, dont talk to nobody." he pointed at nelson, nico and zay making them smile. "all you need to do is collectively just get everybody to back up. because we need to play this game. im not taking no fucking loss"
