Josie Hooper walked through the doors of her house not knowing what to say or do.
He mind was blank along with her face and feelings. What are you going to tell Elliot? A voice rang out.
She looked at her little boy sitting on the sofa scribbling away in a random note book.

"Everything will be okay, Josie." Audrey puts a hand on her shoulder "Dave said he didn't want Elliot to know."

"Yes, but-" Josie tries.

"But, it's what he wants Josie. He doesn't want it but it's what we have to do."

Josie nods.
She knew it was never Dave's fault for the robbery. He had no right to be thrown in there. He was forced. But yet again her opinion was bias as she was his wife.
She sits next to her son.

He looks at her with a frown.
She couldn't tell him even if she wanted to. It would just ruin him completely. Yes. It was better not to tell him.

"You okay?" Elliot asks as he drops the book onto his lap.

"I'm fine darling. Just a little tired."

"Elly darling! You'll be late if you don't come down now!" Josie called up the stairs.

"Coming!" A shout came from upstairs.

Josie heads towards the front door. This weekend had been... hectic. Elliot turning 10 was definitely a big deal to him and to herself. So when he'd asked if he could go to bowling with his friends, without thinking she'd said yes. Wishing she had thought, Elliot appeared next to her, trying to get his hoodie on.

"Elly.." she falter and puts his jumper sleeve she right way.

"Oh thanks." He says awkwardly.

"So who's coming today?"

"Connor, Jason, Harry, Charlie and Dylan."

"So all of them then?"

"Basically."

They both climb into the car and turns on the radio.
She looked at her phone.
12:05.
Great. They had time.
She looks at Elliot through the mirror and smiles.
He'd been waiting for this for afew days now and she was happy that he was happy. It had been a rough month with his grandparents passing away. But this was something he could look forward too.

After about half an hour while there stuck in traffic Elliot pipes up.
"So you know like.. my dad,"

"What about him?"

"What happened to him?"

Josie freezes.
She knew this question would come one day. She just wasn't expecting it now.
She'd avoided it last time hopefully she could again.
She gulps.

"Um.. I'll tell you another day, your too young to understand"

Elliot rolls his eyes.
"You said that last time. What actually happened?"

"Elly please.."

"Is he dead?"

Silence.
She would never expect that. I mean of course he would think that, why wouldn't he? She'd never spoke about him, he'd never been around and she get upset whenever he asked about him.
Ofcourse he'd assume he wasn't alive.

"Is he?" He asked again.

"Elly. You're too young to be told, I'll tell you one day I promise."
Josie said.
Would that work?

Elliot sighs.
"Whatever. Okay."

She lets out a breath she didn't realise she was holding.
Thank goodness.
But now that means she had to tell him now.
But would that day ever come?
