Morgan Le Fay didn't care much for her daughter, but when she had to stay to first two nights at home farm, she was starting to see why.
Vesper Hooper, hopefully soon to be Vesper Le Fay, was located in he room next to where Morgan was staying. Trying to get a minutes rest with that girl around was horrendous. Football blaring from what sounded like a tv, music, yelling down the phone or yelling at her cousin through the walls.
Despite all that, she had a soft spot for the girl. She looked just like her, that Father of hers had said she'd always wanted to meet her. Which was slightly comforting.
Speaking of which, Elliot hooper was certainly a character. Messy blonde hair, sleepy green eyes, the man couldn't catch a break.
She would feel sorry for him, but yet again, mortals are frightful creatures.
Walking down the stairs (trying not to get her dress dusty) she spots her may as well be nephew, Aster. - on his phone typing.
Morgan was confused every time she looked at Aster. He never seemed to interact with anyone. His nose was either in a book, looking at a screen or in Vespers business.
Perplexing as he was, she paid him no mind.
Reaching the bottom of the stairs case, she'd never noticed the photos on the walls, sure she'd seen them. But never actually fully seen them.
Looking at one of the photos, it's surprising how much the chil- Vesper looked like her.
The triangle face shape, bright green eyes, long black hair, tall figure, Morgan might as well be an older version of Vesper.
A strange thought that, looking like the daughter she's denied having all these years. A small smile makes its way onto Morgan's face.
Someone walks straight into Morgan's side.
Morgan darts her head to the culprit. The worried face of her nephew looks up at her, glasses no longer on his face.
"Sorry! I wasn't- I didn't- sorry!"
Aster stumbled.
Morgan raises an eyebrow.
Ugh, a people pleaser.
The light catches her eye and she spots his cracked glasses on the floor next to her foot.
She pushes down the temptation the step on them. Morgan has a reputation to uphold... for now anyway.
Asters eyes dart around for a second before settling on the cracked glasses on the floor.
He sighs and picks them up and stares at them, wistfully.
One part of Morgan told her to leave him there and then, the glasses were his problem.
But another part of her felt she should help. Sympathy was something she rarely felt, and ever expressed, but he was just a child.
"Do you want me to fix those for you?" She asked, indicating to the glasses.
Aster looks up, surprised.
"Oh. Um... if you can?"
She holds out a hand and he drops the glasses into her hand.
She'd done afew fixing spells in her day. But not on anything this small.
Morgan puts two fingers to the nose of the frame and pressed hard before moving her hand away to reveal the now repaired pair of glasses.
She chuckled slightly at Asters face as he took them back and put them on his face.
"How did you-?" Aster started.
"ASTER! YOUR MUM WANTS YOU!" Came the familiar shout of Vesper.
Aster turns around before looking back at Morgan.
"I- thank you, um-, mistress."
Aster fumbles before turning around and heading back towards the living room.
Sitting in the spare room once again, Morgan could hear Vesper talking through the walls to who she could only assume was a friend of hers.
"Rishmi I'm being serious, she's the actual fucking Morgan Le Fay." Vesper says.
"But.. isn't Morgan Le Fay like- dead?" A female voice - Rishmi - says uncertainly.
"I don't know, I don't pay attention during history." Vesper says. "But it is! Wait does this mean I'm Vesper Le Fay?"
"That does suit you." Rishmi chuckles. "Does this mean you're, like, a half blood or something? Like Percy Jackson or something like that?"
Vesper laughs.
"No because imagine! A satyr just shows up at my door and takes me to a camp! Although I wouldn't be able to be in the elite team."
"Oh the elite team!" Rishmi exclaims. "I forgot to tell you! Robin's so pissed you got into the team with me."
"Oh my fuck- don't get my started on Robin!" Vesper yells back. "He's cool and all-"
"Since when did you think Robin was 'cool'?"
Rishmi chuckles.
"Man, shut up and listen." Vesper says. "His dad came bursting into my house today saying that my dad was a thief and that he'd killed Me and Aster!"
Rishmi laughs.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously!?" Vesper says. "The police were there and everything. He's been arrested apparently, robins staying with the police department from what I've heard."
Morgan rolls her eyes and sighs. Children these days. Back when she was a child, she'd not bothered with drama, she'd just killed people that got in her nerves.
She zones out Vespers voice and turns to her apprentice, rummaging his ratty little face through a walkers crisp packet.
"Merlin." She says.
Merlin turns around.
"Yes mistress?" Merlin says, a mouthful of crumbs.
"For heaven's sake, stop eating you'll eat your self to death." Morgan rolls her eyes. "I need intell. Specifically on Seth. Had he been dealt with or still at large?
Merlin scratches his ear nervously.
"About Seth..."
"About Seth?"
"Gee, mistress, I don't know to say this so I'll say it straight. Thanatos gave him the goblet and made Seth free him, and then he killed Seth."
Morgans face darkens.
"And then?"
"From when I last checked, I assume he's in the Duat getting his heart weighed." Merlin scurries up onto Morgan's shoulder. "I don't think he'll make it though."
"Unsurprising." She sighs, looking at her ring. "He was allways a frightful creature. The amount of times he uses the word 'like' in a sentence should be a record."
Merlin chuckles.
There's a knock on the door and Morgan darts her eyes at the door.
"Yes?"
The door opens to the unwelcoming face of Elliot Hooper.
"Morgan, um, I was just wondering," he starts, hesitantly. "We still have some pasta from dinner, do you.. I mean if you get hungry later it'll be there if you want it..."
Morgan stares at him.
Hospitality? How unusual.
Elliot runs his hand through his hair.
"I can throw it if you don't want it?" He says, a lot more uncertainty than last time.
Morgan thinks for a moment.
It was nice he was offering, but something felt off. Why was he being nice? Why was he offering? Why are you worrying so much Morgan?
"I'll take it later. Thank you." She says.
Elliot tries to hide his surprise.
"Oh. Okay. It's on the side and the plates are already out. Just ask Ves if you need help."
Elliot shuts the door.
Merlin looks up at Morgan.
"That's not you to actually accept an offer?" He looks her up and down. "You feelin' allright mistress?"
Morgan rolls her eyes, pushing back the small smile.
"Oh, be quiet." She snaps. "He's the father of my child I don't want him to hate me. He might convince Vesper to give me Escalebar."
Merlin nods slowly.
"Solid plan, mistress."
At around 11:30 Morgan did start to feel hungry. That pasta sounded like a good idea. She'd take anything right now, if she was being honest.
Morgan makes her way downstairs, making sure she didn't make too much noise.
She was about to walk into the kitchen but she saw Elliot, standing writing on what looked like a small piece of parchment.
Strange.
Morgan remembered seeing the very same parchment paper at the Diabalon. Thanatos used to scribble on them and manage to get them into her 'veil of mist' prison.
She had a good collection of stupid little drawings of her in her purple dress.
Elliot looks up and stares at the window as he holds the parchment paper.
"I can't believe I'm doing this again." He mutters to him self, running his hand through his hair. "The parchment finds Thanatos, and he could- do something? I don't know. This worked when I was thirteen?"
He walked over to the window, she tried to see what he was doing but the door blocked her view. And opening it any more would give her away.
She heard the window open, then close. Morgan backed away as she heard the window shut, forgetting why she was even there.
But she did know what Elliot Hooper was up to. And it was certainly something she could use.
She opens the bedroom door.
"Merlin." Morgan snaps at the rat lying on her pillow.
"Mistress?" Merlin sits up.
A small evil smile creeps onto her face.
"I need you to find Thanatos. It turns out Elliot Hooper, is in contact with him."
