Dr Krishna Survati had life sorted. He had a wife, a son, a job and a house in the middle of London. As his niece Vesper would put it "it was a'right". Speaking of Vesper, the three of them - Aster, Virgo and Him - were visiting for the week again. And Aster didn't seem happy about it. One of the few things life didn't have sorted, was the way he acted towards his cousin.

"Do we have to?" Aster complains as they sit on the train. "We've literally got no reason to be going back there."
Virgo gives a withering sigh.
"Aster, sweetheart, it's for a week. And I have... business to attend too." She says. "And you love your Uncle Elliot."
"Vesper's not that bad, Aster." Krish says. "You just have to kick a ball to keep her satisfied."
"Not helping." Virgo mutters, glaring at Krish. "It's just a week Aster, like I said, besides you'll get along."
Aster rolls his eyes and pulls his phone out of his pocket and putting AirPods in his ears.
"Yuh-huh, sure." He says before burning his face into his phone.

Virgo rolls her eyes and looks at Krish.
"Honestly." She says.
"Calm down, he'll come around." Krish says. "Besides, this also means you can go check on Thanatos again."
Virgo nods slowly.
"Yeah..."

Krish opens his studies book.
"Honestly I'm still shocked mythology even exists, you being a prime example." He chuckles. "Who would guessed?"
"I mean you were freaked out when I said I was a constellation." Virgo adds.
"That's not the point." He says. "I'm just staying, I was surprised."
"So surprised you broke the glass of Piña colada you were holding at the time?"
Krish shoves Virgos shoulder.
"Shut up."

Aster looks up and smirks.
"Get a room, I don't want another sibling."
Virgos eyes widen and Krish chuckles.
"Go back to your phone, snoopy." Krish says.
Aster rolls his eyes and looks back at his phone.

Virgo sighs.
"You- just-" she sighs with a smile, shaking her head. " just you, honestly. Why you?"
"Because you chose the Archaeologist that ran into at a bar one night." Krish smirks.
"That spilled water all over me?" Virgo raises an eyebrow.
"Shut up, it was romantic."
"It's was disgusting."

Krish rolls his eyes and looks at Aster.
"Wish we could tell him though."
Virgo looks at Aster too.
"About?" She asks.
"The whole, immortal, constellation, mythology thing." He sighs. "He loves this stuff, I just think he'd love it if he knew."

Virgo nods.
"He'll probably find out on his own. He's a smart kid."

An hour later, the trains stops at little Motbury train station.
Krish picks up his back and taps Aster on the shoulder.
"A-star, come on let's go."

Aster sighs and stands up to follow them.
Krish notices a small glow on his hands out of the corner of his eye. What was that? He looks back at Aster but his hands were normal. Huh. Weird.
They take the mile long walk to the farm.
It would be good to see Elliot again. The last time they'd met was at Krishna's father in law's funeral, and he remembered how upset Elliot was at the time. Maybe he was better now?

The many memories he had of his brother in law just made him laugh. For one was the fact that the man couldn't cook to save his life. Elliot had once set water on fire...
How he did it, Krish still didn't know how. And how he also had a 5 star food review, he also didn't know. But he had faith in the man.

Most of the information Krish had in his book studies came from Elliot's adventures. The chaos stones, Thanatos, Hypnos, Nyx, The Olympians, it was fascinating. And to see Elliot ramble on about it for hours was even cooler. If you could win an award for longest conversation, they would've won by a long shot.

They reached Home Farm and Virgo pulled out her phone.
"He'll be in a minute, he's out with Vesper apparently," Virgo says.

Aster rolls his eyes.
"Ugh.."

Krish glares at Aster which shuts him up instantly. The quiet voice of Vesper can be heard.

"So while are they arriving?" She says as they approach.
"Well..." Elliot begins. "They were supposed to be here next week but plans change," Elliot sees Krish and nods his head in hello as they enter through the gate. "Uncle krish got back from work early so we just-"

"Vesper!" Virgo cries with a smile. "Come here! How are you?"
Vesper smiles widely.
"Auntie V!!" She hugs Virgo. "I'm a'right. You?"
"Couldn't be better." She smiles back, looking at Krish.

Krish smiles.
"Hey Ves. How's the football season going?"
"Oh it's going great." Vesper says. "I scored at hat trick last game."

Virgo goes back to Vesper and Elliot approaches Krish.
"Hey Krish," he says. "You doing okay?"
Krish looks at Aster.
"Tough with this thing," Krish motions to aster before looking back at Elliot. "But it's been okay. Been doing an essay on Maya gods. Kizin is driving me MAD."

Elliot chuckles.
"How so?"
"There's just barely any readable or translatable record of him anywhere. Like the man could take over the world on Wednesday and we wouldn't know."

"I thought you had a translation about him in your book?" Aster asks, looking up.

"Our conversation, not yours." Krish says. "Go talk to Vesper."

"Do I have to?" He groans.

"Yes. Now go."

Aster begrudgingly walks off to his mother.
"What's the essay for?" Elliot asks.

"Uni." Krish rolls his eyes. "10,00 word essay in the Maya. They want me dead I swear."

"Yeesh." Elliot says. "Well anyway, wanna come in or...?"

"Oh yeah good idea" Krish chuckles.

Krish was sat at the dining table, laptop and book open infront of him. Essays weren't his favourite part of his job, but what job didn't come with its downs? Vesper was running around outside with a football, Aster was upstairs unpacking his stuff, and Virgo and Elliot were arguing in the kitchen - Pure usual.
Never a dull day.
Krish turned the page on his book and a page to reveal the translation he'd been stuck on for the past few years.

He'd given up eventually but maybe he could try again today?
Turning back a few pages, he pulled a Maya translation paper out and turned back to the page.
What a minute... surely that couldn't be...?
Oh fuck.

"Uncle Krish?" Vesper said behind him making him jump.
"Jesus christ* Vesper!" Krish yells.
(*Author note : I'll repent that today)
"Don't sneak up on me like that!" Krish closes his book.
"A'right I'm sorry." vesper sits down next to him. "Whatcha doing?"
"Studying." He opens the book again.
"For what?"
"An essay."
"What essay?"
"An essay for uni."
"Why?"
"Because I want a degree?"
Vesper blinks.
"We'll have fun with that" Vesper picks up his cup of water and takes a sip, walking off with it.
Krish rolls his eyes with a chuckle. Honestly. That girl was a tough one.
He turned back to his translation.

"Virgo!" He calls.
Virgo peers out the kitchen door.
"Yeah?"
"Can you come here a second?"
Virgo sits at the table next to him.
"What up?"

Krish shuts his laptop and takes a breath.
"So you know how mythology prophecy's have a thing of coming true right?" Krish begins.
"Yes...?" Virgo says slowly. "What about it?"
He shows her the page.
"It's a rough translation but, it says the world will end on Wednesday."
