𝐀𝐒 𝐖𝐄 stepped into the bustling bar, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. The victory still through the air, infusing every corner of the room.

Jude's presence loomed large casting a shadow over the festivities. His decisive goal had secured our triumph, yet the manner in which he had done so left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Ines, my closest friend who i met from a bad experience she had with a former Madrid player but let's not get into that. Her expression was neutral as she observed the scene unfolding before us. She had no strong feelings towards Jude, merely a bystander in our interactions.

When we settled at a table with the Real Madrid players, the atmosphere cackled with anticipation. Jude's presence was like a magnet, drawing attention and scrutiny alike. His cocky demeanor grated on my nerves.

I exchanged a tense nod with Jude. His smug grin only served fuel to my irritation.

Ines, ever the peacemaker, attempted to diffuse the tension with light talk. "So, how about that match huh?" she ventured, her voice with forced happiness.

The guys around the table erupted into animated chatter, eager to relive the glory of their win. My attention not diverting from Jude.

"You really outdid yourself out there Jude" i remarked, "Scoring a goal must have been quite an ego boost."

Jude smiles, flattered but with a sprinkle of annoyance. "Just doing my job Hannah" his tone sharp. "I don't think you'd understand what it's like to make a meaningful contribution to the team."

The barbs stung, each word a dagger aimed at my pride. Still, i refused to back down.

"Believe me, i know exactly what it means to contribute to the team, unlike some people i prefer to do it with humility and not be so egotistic."

Ines shifted uncomfortably besides me while the other players slowly eavesdropping in.

"Come on, let's just celebrate today why do you fight every time you open your mouth?" Rodrygo chimed in.

I don't reply, just let out a sigh and change seats trying to calm down the situation to make this a pleasant experience for all of us.

I take this time to talk to the rest of the players and congratulate them.

"Thanks Hannah we really did our best out there tonight." Rüdiger said taking a sip of his drink.

I was listening to the rest of them thanking me and talking about the statistics of the game when i caught a sight from the corner of my eye.

I couldn't help but notice Ines's subtle yet unmistakable flirtation with Vinicius.

I chimed in trying to hear what they were saying over the chatter but i managed to make some things out, now that i think of it maybe i was better off not listening in.

"So, do you always look so handsome after a game or is it just tonight?" a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.

Vini chuckled his smile widening. "Only when i have the pleasure of your company, Ines." teasing, but genuine.

Their banter continued, being silenced by the loud surrounding. Slowly getting closer and closer.

This isn't new, these two have been on and off for months now, they both want each other but are too scared to admit it, it's absurd, but still it makes me happy seeing them together. With a smile i raised my glass in a silent toast to them.

It was getting late and the bar started clearing, people starting to go back home. Well, minus the two lovebirds who seemed too in love to even care about their surroundings.

And i was too lost looking at them that i missed Jude with another girl. His faint gestures, his charm in full display as he engaged the girl in conversation.

I really couldn't care less but i felt bad about the girl, she didn't know what she was getting herself into. I'm disgusted by even the thought of him.

I don't have any more business to do here, i ordered a water to wash down the other drinks. Grab my bags and leave this repulsive scenery before i puke.

Morning rolled around, i got home later than i anticipated, my dad already asleep by that time.

Speaking of my dad, he called me in to have a chat today, i would be lying if i said i wasn't terrified, who knows what to expect with that man.

I climed up the stairs and headed towards his work studio, at home. He's always busy with something i swear i don't know how he manages to keep up.

I knock twice before entering. "You wanted to talk?" i ask trying my best to remain composed.

"Yes." he stopped typing on his laptop and raised his gaze. "It won't be long i've just been informed about you having problems with a certain member."

I giggle amused. "Oh yeah, that."

"It is not a laughing matter young lady, in fact both your childish behavior can affect the team greatly, you have to learn to get along, respect one another, if not things are going to go downhill very quickly." My mouth closes shut, he has a point.

"I'm telling you this now since the holidays are coming up, i've already phoned Jude, i told him the same as you, you now have time to reflect and i expect you to change your behavior, i'm counting on you."

How do you expect me to change my behavior is he's-. Calm down Hannah, calm down, i repeat one too many times.

"For sure." that sounded so unconvincing.

"Right, you're free to go now." My father finalized.

Mission impossible.
