𝐖𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐃 at the lavish five-star hotel in the heart of New York City, a sense of awe washed over me. The towering skyscrapers formed a mesmerizing backdrop against the crisp skyline.

Stepping into the opulent lobby, I couldn't help but marvel at the grandeur that surrounded us. The marble floors gleamed under the soft glow of the chandeliers, while the scent of fresh flowers lingered in the air, adding to the sense of luxury that permeated everywhere.

Ines, Vinicius, Hannah, and I stood in awe, taking in the splendor of our surroundings. The concierge greeted us with a warm smile, welcoming us to the hotel and offering to assist with our accommodations.

Entering our rooms, we were greeted by sweeping views of the city, framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that bathed the space in natural light. The plush furnishings and elegant decor exuded an air of sophistication, luxury that awaited us during our stay.

We had to stay in the room in pairs, one king sized bed, Ines wasted no time in announcing her intentions. "I think I'll bunk with Vinicius." She declared with a mischievously her eyes wandering between Hannah and me.

Hannah raised an eyebrow, her lips quirking into a playful smile. "Leaving us with no choice, huh?" Tone light and teasing.

I chuckled, recognizing the playful banter for what it was. "Looks like it's just you and me, then." I replied, shooting Hannah a knowing glance.

Hannah nodded. "Seems that way," she agreed with laughter.

"So, who gets the bed?" I asked, breaking the silence as we surveyed our temporary room.

Hannah shrugged. "I'll take the bed if you don't mind." She offered.

I chuckled, feigning offense as I crossed my arms in protest. "And here I thought you were going to be considerate." I teased.

Hannah laughed, the sound infectious. "Sorry to disappoint." A playful smirk tugging at the corners of her lips.

I managed a weak chuckle. "Guess that means I'm on the floor." I replied, attempting to cover my unease.

We had arrived here late so once we unpacked and settled in, we headed straight to bed.

However, as the night wore on and the elation of the day began to fade, I found myself growing increasingly uncomfortable on the hard floor. The unfamiliar surroundings only served to amplify my discomfort, leaving me restless and unable to sleep.

After tossing and turning for what felt like hours, I finally mustered the courage to speak up. "Hey, Hannah." I whispered in the darkness, feeling like I was asking for a huge favor.

Hannah stirred, her voice soft with sleep probably wondering what the hell i wanted at this hour. "Yeah, Jude? Everything okay?"

I hesitated, feeling embarrassed. "Would it be alright if I... uh... joined you in the bed? The floor is killing me."

There was a moment of silence as Hannah processed my request. "Of course, Jude." She answered, still half asleep. "Come on over, the bed is big enough for the two of us."

Relief flooded through me as I made my way to the bed, careful not to disturb Hannah as I settled in beside her. The warmth of the blankets enveloped me, offering a welcome from the chill of the night air.

As sleep finally closed in, I couldn't help but feel  appreciative for Hannah's generosity. I realized that now, no matter what challenges lay ahead, having Hannah by my side made it a little bit easier rather than us arguing. Slowly we start gaining more trust, one awkward sleeping arrangement at a time.
