Chapter 4 page 19 waking up to a new home

Everything was so dark, and there were muffled noises from ether side of me...

It felt like I was in some weird limbo
The noises around me turned into faint talking.
I listened, trying to understand what was going on around me.

As I focused, I started seeing purple strings again, but this time I kept my focus.

The muffled voices became clearer, and I instantly knew who was in the room with me and the strings had formed into purple silhouettes once more.

One of the silhouettes was standing next to me; it was slim and bright I was pretty sure it was Maya, the other two were standing further away.

The second one was around average height with a wide build I think that was the doctor Zer0 had introduced me to.

The third silhouette was taller than the others, with a thin swimmers build Zer0.

Maya spoke first "Zer0, you should get going with your half of the mission I already delivered the letter to Brick, so we're all waiting on you."

/Their injury is concerning/what can I-/
Maya cut him off mid haiku
"They are already looking much better. I'll stay here and keep Zed away from them while they're asleep."

"Oh, come on, I just wanted to see if a few of my theories were true, that's all." I heard Dr. Zed mumble. I highly doubted that.

Maya continued
"Zed, get Zer0 out before I do."
"On it!...no hard feelings, right buddy."
I watched as Zed's silhouette pushed Zer0's silhouette out.

I started to twitch my finger's to try and wake my body up. My leg, the one that was stung by that varkid, felt numb as if someone had tied something around my thigh?

A couple seconds later, I managed to sit up and open my eyes. Looking around, I started to panic as I saw I was on a bloodstained hospital bed, and there were three bloodstained hospital dividers around me, making my own little room.

To my left I saw a small metal table with my helmet, jacket, and gloves. Maya was poking her head out, making sure Zed got Zer0 out.

When she turned around, she saw me still looking around the room wide eye. "Good, you're awake How do you feel-" She cut herself off as she stared at me. "How the fuck are you doing that?" She asked she sounded dumbfounded.

trying to figure out what she meant and being slightly terrified of my new surroundings and it didn't help that Zed had decided to go back to working on his "patience's"

I flinched as I heard his buzzsaw echoing through the room. Maya was quick to try and calm me down. "Hey, you're fine. We're in Zed's clinic. Zer0 brought you here."

Trying to distract myself from the noise and screaming on the other side of the divider, I looked down to make sure my leg was still in one piece.

My left pants lag was polled up to my thigh, which would explain why it felt like there was something rapped around it.

That small distraction did not last long however as a sporadic purple light caught my attention, and to my surprise, it was coming from my hands.

I stared as bright purple electricity sparked up my arms a panicked and pained "eeehh???" sound came from my throat as Maya continued.
"Hey, I need you to calm down."

I heard Zed on the other side of the divider yell, "What the heck is going on in there?" Maya stuck her head out and gave him a look that screamed. Shut the fuck up.

She turned back to me and continued to try calming me down. Eventually, the panic turned into confusion as I stared at my hands.

The electricity had faded to a purple glow and then altogether faded away. Maya took a step closer to me and asked, "Hey, are you ok?"

I slowly nodded my head still staring at my hands. She walked to the metal table next to the bed and handed my helmet, gloves, and jacket back to me.

"Here, put this on. Zer0 talked with Lilith, and she got a place for you to stay. Let's go we can talk more about this there." I nodded my head and put my things on.

We left the clinic and stopped at HQ.
Maya ran in and came out with my backpack, and Mystic hot on her heels then we stopped at one of the many buildings around Sanctuary.

It was a four-story building; the entrance was small and slim; the front door was facing the stairs leading up.

The stairs were built against the wall; the wall next to the stairs had six mailboxes built into it for every room; and in front of them underneath the stairs was a door that had a sign marked
"Under renovation."

I had a feeling that when Sanctuary went up into the sky, Whatever was underneath this building was left behind, so most likely those renovations wouldn't be done anytime soon.

Going up the stairs, we passed by four doors till we reached the top floor. Maya unlocked and opened the door once we were in; she closed and locked it behind her and threw the keys onto a card table next to the door.

"Well, this is your new place; the bathroom is over there, so why don't you go clean up and then we can talk about what happened?" I nodded my head in agreement a shower was definitely on the list of things to do before we got into whatever the hell that was in the clinic.

As I walked through the apartment, I looked around there was a half wall that separated the kitchen and a small living room.

The kitchen had a small counter space as well as a fridge and makeshift stovetop, along with another card table and two fold-up chairs.

The living room had a raggedy couch with a few questionable stains? Safe to say I was probably never going to sit on.

Mystic followed me through the living room and gave a disgusted look at the couch it seemed like we shared the same opinion.

I had to walk through the kitchen and living room to get to the bedroom.

In the corner of the room were three planks of wood with a mattress on top.

on the other wall was a wardrobe I could put my stuff in, and on the same wall was a door leading into a disheveled looking bathroom with a small shower, toilet, sink, and a single towel.

I closed the door behind me, and as I got myself ready as I turn the water on.
