"Okay."

Lucy nodded placing her hands together and reciting hymns. The only reason she did that was because her friend was fighting. If Amy and Julius weren't fighting she would have cared little about the people.

"Amy look out!"

Julius exclaimed as Amy turned her head. The same attack that destroyed the tea shop was directed at her. She stood in place as her magic began to flow. She flung her sword and directed the attack to the caster.

"Bullseye."

She smiled. She had learnt that attack for seven deadly frames.

"Are you okay?"

Julius asked while holding Lucy in his arms. She looked pale panting heavily. Amy stared at the area. Lucy had casted a spell that avoided the beast from healing and boasted the moral of human.

"She looks like a doll on your hands."

Julia blushed then changed his face completely.

"Amy what are you planning to do with them. You didn't kill them,"

"Well. We have no reason to. They are just fighting for thier home. It would be more embarrassing for them if they fought while getting thier legs served a more fitting punishment."

It was a lie. Amy did that so they could be more angry and attack again.

"You're more kind than I thought."

....

"To think this all has started again. The monsters had attacked half of the state. Fortunately thanks to the saintess and my children there were very little deaths."

The room was filled with tensed air. After Lucy had recovered the Duke had called a meeting with noble officials that were stationed around the place of the attacks. Amy held her sword beside her staring at the people.

They were all odd looking. In most stories she had thought. Extra characters weren't given much of a thought so thier descriptions are basic. But what happens when basic meets reality.

Lucy besides her held her fan to her lips to hold in her laughter. She stared at Amy who tried avoiding her face so as to not release a laugh.

"It's offending in matters like this that the king or even his son cannot attend. If my wife wasn't on the other side of the shop she would have died."

A fat man pronounced taking his stand. A mushroom grew from his head and his nose and chin were closely joint. For him to speak he had to separate his mouth. But Amy and Lucy held it in as soon as he spoke on the casualty

"I understand your concern count Mush tea . We do mourn the death of those that passed. His highness has things he has to do as his son just underwent surgery that would better his life according to the information he gave us."

Amy and Lucy turned to each other with shocked looks.

'Mush tea?'

'The prince is getting the sugery?'

They nodded holding it all in with the amount of magic they had. They stared far on to the side of the table noticing Julius pressing him hands against his stomach. And instantly they knew they were not the only ones and felt relieved.

The talks had gone on about how the guards would be stationed and how tea parties and other events would hold for the time being.

The girls hadn't focused on anything but the looks of others. They had to remind themselves that old people are fairly ugly in novels unless they are somehow related to the main leads. Like for example Amy's dad. The Duke of the North.

"Meeting adorned. We would still host the beast competition as per his highnesses rules."

The place went quiet after all the old guys left. The family all stared at each other in awe. The Duke held his hands up before speaking.

"I am grateful that you three held it together."

Instantly like on queue there was a thunderous sound of laughter coming from the room. When they were done Lucy took her stand.

"Your grace. Where is the beast home located?"

"In the left of the continent. The place called nether. No one has ever stepped close to there. Even coming out from there could kill. So the beast you faced today are stronger than 1000 human soldiers. That's why we train hard for it."

Their mouths gaped open.

"But dad I defeated them with one hit."

"The noble family is different. Our ancestors were part monsters. That's why marry between nobles to strengthen the blood."

Thier mouths gapped open again. Lucy then sighed as though remembering something and so did Amy as they stared at Julius.

"What?"

"Just grateful I am an ordinary commoner."

"Since you guys are here let me educate on the other noble family there are."

"The north specialize in ice and water. Some parts of the north there are mermaids which aren't considered monsters as they helped the north. Your mother was a mermaid. Every noble here specializes in ice or water. We are known to be cold hearted.

The west. They control anything that has to do with heat. From creating metals to gold. They do it all. Though thier known for thier annoying fiery temper.

The east they specialize in wind and brilliance. They are smarter than thousands and because of that they are known to be extremely rich. Even the lowest baron has more money than a count. They are very cunning be careful.

And the south. They specialize in plants and animals. Very warm hearted people but even though they specialize in animals they hate the monsters across the borders and wish to have nothing to do with them.

There are other things as well. Like mages and priest who have thier own things as well and wish not to be classified. "

They nodded. They had little news about the empire but for some reason the boring cliche book they had read seemed interesting but Lucy felt like she was forgetting something about the nether.

"Well I have places to be. You kids play amongst yourself. Also Amy don't forget about the competition."

Amy nodded.
