"I can't believe marquiss weiss gave you a flower."
Some girls were squealing talking about the flowers they were handed. Lucy sat in the middle sipping her tea. Unlike the old people the other extras were plain looking some more pretty but not on par with the main leads. She stared in the direction of samatha who was seated in her own table.
The tables were divided into groups.
The top royals: consisting of the marquess, dukes and imperials and Lucy who was a priestess.
The nobles 1: counts, barons and viscounts.
The nobles 2: earls, lords and rich merchants.
"Lady Lucy may we ask who you got your flowers from?"
"She must have many suitors."
The girls giggled. On a normal day. Girls looked for ways to bring the others down but a day like that was one of the few where they all gather together to celebrate.
"Yes."
Lucy dropped her tea pointing at each flower.
"The ducal princess Amelia gave me the red one. The Duke successor gave me the gold and the Crown prince gave Amelia the silver but she gave me to hold."
'To throw away.'
Lucy thought. After Lucy's countless visits she had brainwashed successfully The prince to love her friend so she could have a good laugh.
"The prince. As though your lover? I thought he didn't like his fiance?"
It wasn't a secret that Lucy had been proposed by the prince but no one knew that she had broken the engagement.
"Yeah. I have to much to focus on due to the outbreak of monsters and the prince needs a queen right now so they are back together and so in love."
She lied. With a grin on her face. She turned to Samantha's table catching her gaze. Samantha jolted staring back at the match.
'Silly girl.'
Lucy thought grinning.
"Would you ladies mind telling me who you got your flowers from?"
They all squealed making small talks.
"I got mine from depp."
Lucy's ears perked up as soon as she heard those words. She turned to a boy who wore makeup.
' does he like make up?"
"You mean count depp?"
He nodded. The girls and guys squealed congratulating him. The boy was pretty. Prettier than the girls.
"Doesn't depp have a girlfriend?"
The place went silent and it tensed up. They stared at Lucy as she looked in confusion.
"Hahahah. Lady Lucy. The count depp is know to have been very affectionate to marquess Darwin."
Her eyes lit up.
"You don't say. I see him a lot with the lady Samantha."
"Yes but even the count himself stated that the lady is very delusional and hangs around him for no reason. He takes pity on her and stays with her. Even though his heart fully belongs to the marquess."
"Ho?"
She took a sip of her tea watching the marquess blush.
"Yes but then she's only a baron and the count has three titles above her, he could just leave her."
It was true. There was no justifying that.
"Lucy. I apologize for the rude thing I am about to say but it seems as though you don't listen to rumours."
She bent her head smiling.
"Yes I only see it as baseless unless it has to do with the people of the empire but enlighten me. What does my question have to do with that."
"You see the baron of the east is known to be the richest of all four points. He money exceeds that of even the imperial family. But due to anecdotal things he cannot easily buy a title until the fall of a noble which has yet to happen. Due to that his money goes to waste and he gives it out to his kids."
'To think she was that rich.'
"But to sum it up. She has the power to bribe even the king. Since it's known the king loves money. How horrid of her. As though being educated was not enough."
The environment got heavy as people felt sentiment for Darwin. Lucy however had mixed feelings. At one Darwin seemed to be wearing an expensive set of jewels. Looking at him he had scars on his palms. Calluses from painting and his whole aura was artistic.
"You own a paint shop?"
Lucy asked.
Darwin jolted clapping his hands.
"You're the first to guess it right. Most people think I am an actor due to my looks. Yes I own a paint shop which was bought by depp. We have been dating for 6 years now."
Lucy grinned.
"His art shop is the most popular in the whole empire. In fact his family abandoned him for not wanting to take over the position but the count help him succeed his dreams. It is the best romance story told."
"Oh?"
'I never heard of this. Seeing Samantha she probably doesn't know of the rumours.'
She fingered her cup as all the girls spoke.
'This is interesting. Not only are you tainted for being a mad woman which you could easily disperse if you engaged with the socialites but you are also being played by con man who has a family in the barains.'
Lucy smiled. The day she was healing the sick. She came across an odd Looking family. They seemed to have noticed her gaze and spoke on how their financial provider has been distant and only gave the support when he felt like it. They claimed his title was of a count and when he did come home he spoke on a painter whose piece captivated him.
Lucy stared back at the ladies and men.
"You know what? I did speak to the baroness. She dropped two gold coins on the table and the moment she left the monsters attacked the shop. It was odd."
She added.
They all whispered amongst each other as she grinned staring to Samantha.
"That this as payement for revealing the affair and the change for the two gold coins."
She mumbled.
