"The first to catch a hundred beasts wins."

The competitors were off. Amy had gone into the wild alongside Julius.

"Lucy is such a sweet person."

Julius commented out of the blue blushing. He sounded like an npc. In fact Amy found it odd he said the exact words as he did during the competition in the book. Except it was to the prince.

'Odd. '

She thought. She looked back to him snapping her fingers.

"The Lucy I know is evil and anything from sweeet. If you think she's nice then she must not be talking to you enough."

Even as introverted as she was Lucy had social and street smarts. Unlike Amy that knew how to dominate in conversations and argue. Lucy knew how to twist things to her favour and picks on the smallest details.

"That's true we don't talk much."

Amy found it odd. The Lucy she knew would talk to her crush.

'Maybe she doesn't like him as much as I thought she does.'

Amy shrugged. They dwelled little on others due to a promise they had made. She decided not to dwell to much on it.

"Stop."

Julius cautioned as they stopped in thier steps. The sounds of leaves rustling and instantly something came out. The prince had emerged looking lost. He didn't have his horse but was holding 30 beast on his hands.

"Your highness what happened."

His face was smoldered but he managed to looked pretty.

'That sugery paid off.'

The prince came trembling holding on to Julius crying. Amy couldn't help but stared at his face. The tears made him look weak. She had to hit her head.

"I was attacked by a group of beasts and my horse was killed so I had to run all the way here."

'To think he was that strong."

She had underestimated him. His torn clothes showing his large build only now did she notice how cute.

'Cute?'

She hit her face. That was the face of a man that tried embarrassing her. how could she see him as cute. She scrunched her face.

"I would share a horse with my sister you can have my horse."

"Thank you Julius."

...

"So how did you manage to get many beasts?"

Amy asked. It was odd. The forest was huge so it would take 10 hours to get 20 monsters. The competition was just a way to show how suitors that they are capable of protecting them both.

"Not sure all I did was call out that I needed a beast and they all started coming to me."

"Of course why didn't we think of doing that!"

They all callled out to the monsters and the sounds of thumping came towards them.

"Heck yeah."

they rejoiced

......

"It seems that they are back."

Lucy smiled taking her stand staring at the faces of her friends. She held her hands together and bowed.

"Thank you for this discussion."

They all blushed staring at each other.

Samantha watched Lucy leave. She had been staring at her since the beginning. Her posture and being able to notice her made her seem incredible.

But what captivated her more was noticing that Lucy had a shadow of a snake behind her. As though one word from her mouth would either destroy or birth something.

"Arghh. I shouldn't have gotten on her bad side."

That was the only thing she could think about. After the letter she received from Lucy three weeks prior.

It read.

Dear my good friend Sammy,
It's been a while and I am grateful that I could say that as you see I almost died the moment you walked out the teashop exploded. It's something that never appeared in the books. I see you have more knowledge than I yet decided to use it selfishly. Well I hope you're doing well lady.
Your good friend Lucinda

Samantha felt an eery vibe from the letter. The same way she felt bumps on her back. She noticed the counts arrival and went ahead to hug him. Not noticing the stares behind her.

...

"You guys did well."

Lucy called to them healing thier wounds. Any gave her a kiss and sighed.

"Babe I am exhausted."

"I know babe you did good."

Lucy patted her head lovingly then proceeded to whisper in her ear.

"Your instincts are right. The count was cheating."

The both turned to the direction of the count watching his fake smile.

"Amy look at the faces of the nobles towards Sammy."

It was then Amy realized the feeling she felt from the count was actually the hostility of the crowd. Her face began to lit up.

"Ohhohiho. How interesting indeed. I can't wait to hear what you have in store. Besides that. What did you say to Ralus that is making him hover me. It's quite annoying."

Lucy laughed loudly.

"That's for making me heal bunches of people."

"But it was my dad that made you do it."

"Yeah yeah but he's still related to you. Have fun handling your fiancée."

"You fucking bitch."

"You love me."
