Y/N will be entering this chapter. Here is what I imagined an avatar of Anubis suit would look like. You can always choose your own suit if you like.

Song: Batwanes Beek

Marc had taken over the body as he walked down the alleyway with the smell of rain in the air. He continued to walk until he came across the dead end, waiting patiently for the bricks to slide and part a way for him to enter into the Egyptian Temple that would be waiting on the other side. "You ready for this Steven?" "I mean, we've dealt with way worse. What could be so bad about a simple meeting?" Steven spoke as he was in the reflection of a puddle on the floor. Before Marc could reply, the sound of bricks moving could be heard. As Marc looked up, he saw the bricks moving to reveal a tunnel for him to take. Marc had taken a deep breath to calm his nerves as he began to walk through. It was the same as the last time they had visited, which wasn't very long ago. The walls made of sandstone with some hieroglyphics carved in. The paint seemed it had faded from over time as it was barely visible. The sound of people talking grew louder as he had finally reached the temple. It was a different room though. Giant wooden doors could be seen from across the room and a stage like flooring was right across from it. On the risen floor with stoned steps leading up to the top, he saw the nine throne chairs as before, but the placement for them was in a more rounded shape unlike the last time. He could see the main council of gods talking amongst themselves. Atum, Shu, Tefnut, Geb, Nut, Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys could be seen as clear as day to Marc and Steven for the first time. It's not like it isn't the first time seeing an Egyptian god, but it does get a bit overwhelming when you could see them even though you're not serving them. The moment he took a step into the room his outfit was quickly covered by his ceremonial suit. Khonshu was near and he could sense it. As he looked around, he tried to blend in with the crowd that wore their suit as well, trying not get talked to as he just wanted to find a place to stand and listen in peace. Meanwhile Steven is fan girling over all the gods he could finally see and meet. "There's Horus over there! And oh my gosh is that Bastet?!" "Steven shut it will you?" Marc spoke quietly. "Marc, how do you expect me to be quiet after seeing all of this?! It's like I'm a kid in a candy store! And what happened to us meeting new people?" Marc groaned as Steven kept talking. "I already told you I'm not doing that." Before Steven could reply back, Marc felt a tap on his shoulder. "Why haven't you been answering my texts? I've told you to text me back once you started to feel better but here you are not texting me. You have something to say for yourself?" Layla spoke with attitude in her tone. After they had defeated Harrow, she decided to stay as Taweret's avatar to help the young children who were separated from their parents and reunite them. "Me and Steven have been figuring this whole thing out. It's taking us a while, and have you not once considered that we might have a job?" Marc spoke back which just caused Layla to laugh at what she had just heard. "You? A job? Yeah, right Marc, like you can land any job at this point. The only one I believe that can actually make a living is Steven." "Thank you! Finally, someone who agrees with me." Layla could tell Steven had taken over the body due to his demeanor changing, along with the suit changing to a clean white suit. "Hello Steven and how have you been with dealing with this whole mess?" Layla asked nicely. When it came to Marc, she didn't quite forgive him for ditching her and running off without warning. They still haven't filed any divorce papers, in which Marc could never bring himself to sign. But when it came to Steven, it's as though she could see the old Marc for once. Even if it's an entirely new person, it's still him. "It's been alright I suppose. Something that is definitely getting used to. It's like having a roommate you know? But its just you...in the same body, just a different you?" Steven's last sentence sounded more like a question than an answer as even himself can't explain the whole "split personality" situation. "I hope Marc haven't been giving you any trouble." She spoke softly. "Not at all, he's been great." He said cheerfully. Before Steven could try and speak again a loud bang echoed through the room, catching everyone's attention. Osiris had used a wooden staff to hit the ground to make sure everyone was listening. The other eight of the gods sat in their stone thrones as they wait quietly for Osiris to speak. "Good evening. We have all heard of the news about Harrow and Ammit I'm sure. But even though they are no longer here, doesn't mean his minions won't try and complete something their leader left undone. More and more have spread across the world as they try and recruit as many civilians as they can. Though Ammit is gone, does not mean they won't try and resurrect another. We have a spy on the inside of this new group. Rumors have spread that they are trying to resurrect Apophis." The room slightly gasped as they heard that name, leaving some of the gods in shock themselves. Osiris held his hand up to quiet the soft whispers that were echoing in the room. "We are trying all we can to prevent this from happening, and if he were to be risen once again...well there will be no telling on what may happen. That is why-" before Osiris could finish his sentence, a loud banging could be heard from the wooden doors.

(Song: She is Here from Moon Knight)

As everyone turned to the wooden doors, they all got into a fighting stance as they prepared for the worst. The doors slammed opened to reveal an avatar in black and gold clothing with Anubis right behind them. "OSIRIS!" The avatar yelled in a deep voice. As this new avatar walked into the room, Marc and Steven had caught a glimpse of what they look like. They had a more muscular look than a woman would, with their back straightened with a black hooded cape with a gold streak at the bottom. Their top part of their face was covered with a dog skull mask, canine teeth were still attached. As for the bottom of their face was just covered by a black cloth. They were almost an exact representation of Anubis, jackal ears that poked through the hood with golden earrings, golden choker necklaces around the neck, shiny golden shoulder armor. Their chest piece was almost similar to Marc's, but instead of a moon in the center, it was a red ruby. The last thing that was hard to miss was their piercing white glowing eyes. Steven couldn't help but be amazed by the suit he saw before him. The design looked effortlessly elegant, perfectly capturing Anubis style but as a person. "You have a lot of nerve calling me up, AFTER Harrow! You really think it's easy trying to help lost souls in the underworld?! These souls were poorly wronged by the scales. They were fucking SCAMMED OSIRIS!" The avatar shouted in a muscular voice in which sounded a bit pitchy as they spoke louder and louder. Marc could tell it was a voice changer, but couldn't be too sure of himself at the moment. As this new avatar continued to shout at Osiris, they had began to ascend up the stairs that lead to the thrones. The other Egyptian gods of the council seemed calmed. And as Marc looked around, he saw all the gods were calm. There was no anger, no frustration, no sign of being ready to attack. "Well he seems pissed" Steven spoke in Marc's mind. "Why aren't the other gods not upset at this? An avatar is yelling at Osiris. That has to be some rule against this right?" "I don't know Steven, but whatever is going on I don't like it. This doesn't feel right to me. The gods should be doing something about him." Marc spoke up softly enough for no one to hear him. "And you think it's ok to call ME to one of these stupid meetings?! I don't need to put up with these type of bullshit when it's YOUR FAULT! YOU should be dealing with this, YOU should have been the one to stop this in the first place, YOU should have listened to Khonshu and his avatar when they first told you but what did you do Osiris?! Tell me. What. Did. You. DO?!" Before Osiris could speak up, the avatar laughed slightly. "On second thought, why don't you tell them what you did? Tell them how you punished Khonshu by putting him in stone." "Anubis, control your avatar" Osiris spoke with anger through his clenched jaw. Anubis shrugged his shoulders as if there was nothing he can do as the avatar kept talking. "How you put an avatar at risk? Why don't you tell them-""ENOUGH!" Osiris shouted.

(Song: Under the Clock Tower from Spiderman Across the Spider-verse)

The room got deadly silent as his voice echoed. "Yes. I did those things. I was the one who caused all this, simply because of the lack of trust I have for Khonshu. He has proven himself worthy enough to be trusted again and I take full responsibility for this. Ammit was my responsibility to take care of. To make sure that no one were to resurrect her. And Harrow was also my responsibility to keep a close eye on, making sure the allegations against him were true." Osiris stood tall looking at the crowed, exposing himself for the actions he had taken. The avatar then walked down the stepped of the risen floor as they headed towards the doors once again. "And where do you think you're going??" Osiris spoke to the avatar. "Back to do my job" the avatar spoke with attitude still. "You're dismissed from your job Reaper." The avatar stoped in place once they heard Osiris speak. "I'm sorry, my hearing isn't the best, but it almost sounded like you said I'm dismissed" the avatar now known as Reaper turned around to look at Osiris. "That's correct." He said. The avatar turned to Anubis in confusion. Anubis sighed before speaking, "we've had a meeting before this. Osiris thought it would be best you complete this task as your next mission before returning back to protect the underworld." Anubis spoke with a deep sophisticated voice. "You can't be serious?" The avatar asked as they turned from Anubis to Osiris. "From this day forward I can't not lose another avatar on my watch, that is why I called you here today to pair you into two. One avatar will stay with another until this problem is resolved. Until then, you will work as a team to find and execute these followers, and stop them from trying to resurrect Apophis. The world depends on all of you now, more than you may realize it. You have one week to pack up any belongings you may need, each of you will be assigned your partner by your strength, intelligence, and lastly on how well you operate as a team. This trial will be over the span of three days...you're dismissed." Osiris spoke one last time before banging his wooden staff on the ground. Everyone talked amongst themselves as they began to slowly panic. Reaper stood still as they continued to stare at Osiris, before turning away and walking out those same doors they walked into.
