Song: Rises The Moon by Liana Flores

The morning of the move in came quicker than I could've imagined. The sun hasn't yet risen, my body aching from all the training and fighting I had done these past couple of days. I just wanted to lay in bed a few moments longer. The silence was so nice, the birds weren't chirping, barely any cars were driving by the apartment. I closed my eyes taking a few breaths in, feeling my surroundings. The softness of my sheets, the comfort of my pillows holding my head up slightly. Once I opened eyes, I was met with the ceiling. The darkness of it was comforting to me. I never feared the unknown void of the dark, though some people would have gone insane just seeing it. I didn't move my body from how I was laying and slowly reached over for my phone to look at the time. It was only four thirty in the morning, but it felt so much earlier to me. I turned off the alarm and just dropped my phone on my bed. I didn't want to get up, leave the comfort of my own bed. I just wanted to relax for once in the comfort of my own bed, not waisting it all that time in the shower increasing my water bill. But after today who knows when it will be until I'm able to relax for once, I know I'm not going to sleep as good as I used to when I know he will be here. I sighed before slowly sitting up, popping my back a bit as stretched. "Good morning Steven" I yawned out. "Good morning Marc, how you feel?" "Better, I guess." I slowly got out of bed, but before my feet reached the ground, I realized that Steven had gotten rid of all the sand. It was nice not having to feel as though I woke up on a beach, but yet...why did I miss it? "I got rid of it last night before I went to bed. There might be some specks here and there that you'll find but as much sand that would probably make a castle." I heard him laugh slightly at his words. "I see that...thank you Steven." "You're welcome Marc, it was the least I could do since you did most of the work in here." I smiled slightly as I slowly placed my feet on the scratched up wooden floor boards that had felt as though they were somewhat sanded down, which wouldn't be surprising to me.

As I opened the fridge, I realized how empty it was. "Steven...weren't we supposed to get groceries yesterday?..." I said as I felt my heart drop realizing how I forgot the one thing I knew we needed for today. "...yup..." "...fuck." I put my hand to my forehead and slid it down my face in annoyance. As I turned slightly, I saw how we had a few filters left and just enough ground coffee to make one cup. I opened the lid to the coffee machine and put in a clean filter and poured out the rest of the coffee grounds into the filter before starting up the machine. Once I heard the sound of the machine doing its magic, I walked over to the couch and turned on the tv as I waited patiently for my brew to be ready. "You feel nervous yet?" "No. I don't really feel anything yet, still waiting on my coffee." "You don't feel the slightest bit anxious about this whole situation?" "I mean, I do feel uncomfortable sharing the apartment with him. But I'm sure we can come to some agreement and make sure we don't bother each other. We're only here for work purposes, not to become friends." "I suppose so." The smell of coffee filled the air, I could hear the machine began to slow down, and that's when I made my way towards the kitchen once more. As I got my cup, I began to slowly blow on it before taking a sip. "Mhmm...god I needed this." "You need a lot more than just a coffee." I jumped slightly as I heard Khonshu's voice behind me. Luckily none of my coffee spilt. "DO YOU EVER KNOCK?!" "Marc, do you forget? I don't need to waste my time waiting at the door for you when I can just sit comfortably here." I groaned in response. "What do you want? You're here for something. You never like to show up this early before a meeting, so spill." I leaned back against the kitchen counter as I waited for his response. "I just wanted to remind you that you need to be on your best behavior when our guest arrive." I furrowed my brows a bit. "I'm not the one that needs to watch their behavior and you know that better than I do." "I suppose I do know better, but at the same time, I know you. And whether you like it or not you're going to have to play nice." I rolled my eyes and I took a sip. "He needs to watch his mouth around me, I don't care who he is I'll put him in his place." Khonshu laughed lightly. "Like you did last time? May I remind you, you have no idea what he is capable of...and I find it quite funny how similar you two are." I gave an annoyed glance. "And yet, I'm not laughing at that. So I don't know what you find so amusing about it." "Don't take it to heart Spector." "No, I am taking it to heart because I am NOTHING like that, that...whatever it is, THAT!" Khonshu shook his head slightly. "Let me tell you something Marc Spector, you're stubborn, stupid, a fighter, a killer, and an idiot. And only three of those things is what Reaper is." I gave him a confused look. "You basically called me stupid twice." "Because you are. Now, get ready, the meeting is about to begin." And with that he disappeared. "I miss Taweret. Why couldn't you had found her statue?" "Steven." "Yes?" "Please, for the next five minutes, and I mean this the most respectful way possible...shut."
