MARC & STEVEN'S POV
⚠️WARNING: cursing
Song: Canon Event by Daniel Pemberton
As the world had went dark, my body gone limp, the only thing I could feel was the wet sensation on my face. I quickly opened my eyes and shot up into a fighting stance as quickly as I could, before realizing, "Nero?" I gazed upon the black coated German shepherd with a confused look, before looking around to see I was back this shitty insane asylum. "Oh you're finally awake! Marc there's something I gotta show you, come on!" Steven rounded the corner quickly, taking my hand and speed walking away to god knows where. I could barely comprehend what was happening as I had just woken up, stumbling over my own feet as I quickly tried to match his pace. The sound of our feet's combined with Nero's claws tapping against the white tiled ground was all I could hear. "Steven what the hell are you taking me?!" "You'll see!" "Can you atleast give me a second to...wake...up..." as we began to slow down, I saw as the halls began to blend in with the outside world, it was if the walls were fading away as reality began to seep through the cracks. The ground became sand, the night Egyptian sky never looked so beautiful, the pyramids showing in the distance. "Steven...what is this?..." "I...I don't know...I've been in here for a bit and I haven't seen anything really, that's what's been the most confusing part. If this was the night where I turned the night sky, you wouldn't be able to see the pyramids. And this wasn't the night where we met Khonshu either. I had been trying to find any clue that I could get but there hasn't been anything except some sort of print on the ground, but the thing is the sand covers them up after a few steps and it would be hard to track anything down like that, along with even getting back here." I kneeled down to examine the prints that were made in the sand, and they seemed as though they were hoof prints from a camel, which would make sense. As I gazed up upon the night sky, I could tell we weren't in our time, the stars were brighter than normal, the amount of light pollution that has occurred over the years had increased dramatically. "Steven." "Yea?" "This isn't a vision that's for sure." "What makes you say that?" I point my finger to the sky. "See how the stars look, when have we ever seen such a thing like that before." I saw how Steven stared in awe as he gazed upon the night sky, though I wouldn't blame him, I haven't seen a sky like this since I had went into the military. "I suppose you're right. But where are we then?" I got up from the sand and began to dust myself off, "I'm not sure Steven, that's the thing. I know it's when I met Khonshu, and there's no way in hell you came across anything like this before, so maybe..." That's when I saw it. It was something that couldn't be missed even if you tried to ignore it, it sticked out like sore thumb. The black sky revealing its white colored coat. I heard Nero begin to bark towards the white coated dog in the distance. "It can't be..." "Marc...where you going?" I heard Steven's voice from behind me as I began to walk slowly in the direction of the dog. Nero on the other hand didn't hesitate to run towards it, his tail wagging happily, jumping slightly from the ground as he would slightly sink into the sand. I watched as white colored dog began to walk slowly towards my direction, as if it was going to meet me half way. "What are you doing?" "I don't know...just something about this doesn't seem...right." I'm not sure what it was, but I had never seen this dog appear before in my dreams, and the fact that we had seen this dog in the alleyway with Santiago...there couldn't be a coincidence. "You don't know if that dog was even friendly or not! What happens if it bites you?!" Steven whispered yelled as I was now only a couple feet away from the dog. I gazed upon it, examining every detail I could. The coat was almost as white as snow, it was if the moon itself came down to earth with its brightly white color and took the shape of a dog. I kneeled down the ground in hopes of trying to gain its trust, to see if it would dare to come close to me. I watched as the white colored German shepherd began to slowly walk to me, its paws slightly sinking into the sand, the sound of its collar clinking as it got closer to me. "Hey bud...what's your name?..." I held out my hand for him to sniff, which he rejected. He just continued to walk up to me as close as he could and sat himself down right in front. It was such an odd situation, the feeling of it all, this whole dream never felt quite right. What was the purpose of this dream? What if this doesn't even mean anything to begin with and I've finally lost it? "Marc be carful, can't have you lose us a hand in the dream." I slightly rolled my eyes at his comment before I began to reach out slowly to slightly pet the dog's head and saw how its tail began to wag. "Look at that, I guess he's a normal dog after all. At least he didn't kill you." "Yet, still haven't checked who he even belongs to." My hand made its way down to the collar just so I could try see if there was a name or even an address that would help me figure out where this dog came from. As I flipped the silver circle, my body was left in shock. I quickly shot up and began to walk backwards away from the dog from horror. "No, no no, no...no..." "Marc what's wrong? What happened? What's wrong with the collar?" The world felt like it began to spin, I remember that address all too well, it's the same numbers that's been stuck in my head since I even left that place. I've never once owned a dog growing up, never once seen a dog with pure white fur...this is just a dream, it's only a dream. "Steven..." I spoke softly as I began to catch my breath. The flashing memories of that faithful day suddenly came flooding back. "That's the address...to my old house..." "oh...what's wrong about that?" I eyes showed the pain I held deep inside, I knew he remembers what had happened, and even I've never forgave myself...he still did... "you were just a child" I remember it as if it was yesterday, living through that hell once more, it had never felt more real in my life...I never wanna go back to that..."oh..it's that address...Marc, I don't believe this is truly real. I mean look at where we are, you truly think something as small as that would be real? I mean sure the dogs somehow managed to appear in...real...life, BUT thats besides the point, the point is Marc...this isn't real." He began to walk over to me and place a hand on my shoulder as a way to try and give me comfort. I slightly place my hand on his forearm and gave him a slight nod. The sound of thunder began to echo throughout, followed by the small droplets gracefully falling from the dark clouds. I felt them all one by one, seeing how the sand became darker from the water, the moonlit sky quickly darkened as the storm began to pass through. Nero then perked up his head slightly in a different direction, his ears now perked up as if he was listening to something. He never once growled, never once barked, he just began to walk slowly in the random direction he looked at. I knew something wasn't right about this, I wasn't going to bother following Nero when I know something might be ahead, though it wasn't any danger, cause he would have barked by now, would have growled, would have made any sort of indication letting us know about the dangers ahead. "Where's he going?" Steven tried to follow but I sticked my hand out in front to prevent that, "Steven just don't like this, something isn't right. Just, stay back and let's just see where he goes. He goes any further than those sand dunes then we'll follow." "You sure Marc?" "More than sure." As we stood there, watching Nero's every step across the sand, I saw a dark figure begin to walk over the sand dunes. I quickly got into a slight fighting formation, waiting for the next move. Nero stood next to the figure, looking back at us as if he was waiting for us to join him. "Marc...isn't that..." "...it can't be..."
