Song: Spot Holes 1 by Daniel Pemberton

"How badly did you hurt self dear?" Taweret spoke softly to me as she saw me sitting at the edge of the boat with my feet dangling. I had some comfier clothes on for the first time in a while. I'm used to constantly wearing my ceremonial suit on, I rarely wear anything else. "Not to badly. I'll be fine." I spoke a bit bluntly. "Then why don't you come over here then?" I heard Osiris's voice and that was when my heart dropped. I groaned before I turned myself around and stepped on the wooden floorboards of the boat. I couldn't react to the pain, couldn't make a face, couldn't limp to where they were. Though it had been a couple of hours since the challenge had ended, my ankles were still slight sprained. It was just my luck that I sprained both my ankles. I walked with my back and shoulders straight, acted like nothing was wrong. "See, I'm fine. You guys are just over reacting." I said as I crossed my arms and stood face to face with each of the gods. Osiris didn't buy it as much as Taweret did, knowing him, he's probably going to have a talk with me which I always dreaded. "Alright. I came down here to tell you about tomorrow. The last day for this whole testing thing has been moved up." I looked at him with confusion. "And why is that?" "Because the council and I have decided that it would be best if you were to meet your partners before the next challenge. Which is where the two of you will be a team and retrieve the flag. The same as the one for today but this time you and your partner must press the red button. You can both retrieve the flag at different times, he could be ahead of you or you could be ahead of him. The challenge is there will be two red buttons instead of one. There will be one on either side of the village and you both must press it at the same time. The goal here is to work as a team, not as individuals." I was stunned by his words. I bit my tongue and looked off to the side. I couldn't argue since this has all already been decided. I huffed out some air in frustration. "When, where, and what are me and Spector and Grant possibly doing? I want nothing to do with him and he wants nothing to do with me, see, we already have so much in common." Osiris rolled his eyes at my comment. "Tomorrow in the big hall at 9pm. This event will be only an hour. I'm sure you can survive that." I rolled my eyes as he proceeded to give me sass back. "And the what, that you and Spector are going to be doing, is sitting at a table to try and connect with one another." I gave him this look of asking if he was serious about that, and no where on his face showed that he wasn't joking. I shook my head slightly, groaning at the fact that I would have to finally be face to face with him. "...fine. Don't expect me to wear anything but my suit. I don't plan on showing him my real identity." I spoke with some slight anger. "And I don't plan on you doing that anytime soon." "I think you, Marc and Steven would get along nicely. He was in the Marines when he was around your age." Taweret spoke. "And what does that have to do with me?" "He knows how you probably feel. You and I both know that he is in pain, he never had anyone he could truly relate or talk to, well except maybe Layla. But she was never a fighter until just recently. You my dear, well you have never stopped fighting since you were first down here." Taweret held her arms out to showcase the boat gliding on the sand. "I'm sure you two will eventually connect. Now if you excuse me, I believe I must be going. It's getting awfully late. Goodnight dear, see you in the morning." I gave Taweret a soft smile and waved her goodbye.
