Song: Nothing Is Lost by The Weeknd
As I walked towards the council, I could feel all eyes watch me, burning their gaze into my skull. I could sense Marc near by, acting the same as the crowd. I didn't dare look into Osiris's eyes. After what I heard, I don't know what I would do if I looked at him. I reached the top of the steps and took Osiris side, my back straighten and my head high as my glowing white eyes shined. "Lady's and Gentleman, thank you all for being here on this beautiful night. And thank you for your participation these last couple of days. It is important we train and get prepared as quickly as we can. Today is the day that you and your teammate will fight as one." I could sense Osiris eyes send daggers into my skull as he said that. Though he was practically shouting this to the whole room, this was specifically towards me. I had no issues with Marc and Steven...well, no issues with Steven. Marc on the other hand is a different story. "The goal here is to reach the red button and fight off any Jackals that will try and stop you. But there's a twist. There are two buttons, one on one side of the cage and the other on the opposite side. You and your partner must press the button at the same time in order to officially complete the challenge. Once the night comes to an end, and the sun has not risen, we will meet back here for the people who are traveling to the others abode. Now, let's begin." I walked down the steps to make my way to the sandstone seats that were behind the stage of council. Everyone didn't move till I was already walking up the steps to my seat. I walked all the way to the top, where there was no seats and just stood there observing everyone. No one dared to look at me as they walked the steps. The only thing I could see was the white of a suit that could never blend in the crowd.
I watch him make his way to the steps but instead of turning to sit next to his dearly beloved Layla, he kept walking up to the very top to where I was standing. "Why...did you... decide to sit up here for mate?" Steven said out of breath. I didn't say a word but just watched as he had his hands on his knees trying to get air into his lungs. "Observation." I simply said. "Oh wow, thats something I never thought I would see. You can see everything in that cage huh?" He said with a light chuckle. Osiris called out a pair of avatars to take the challenge, the fear they had could be seen from way up here. I could tell they were practically traumatized from how much they've been having to deal with. And from the looks of it, they never thought of the day they would have to be the one to spill blood on their hands. They entered the cage and the slam of metal hitting the ground could be heard. The lights around them went out except the fires that surrounded the rims of the metal cage. They then rushed to find one of the buttons but the jackals made it more difficult than they thought. I watched how the jackals were released in a pattern, kill three, they release six more, kill five they, they release ten more. They up the amount by each kill, making it more difficult than the other times where you can kill them all at once and don't except more than what you just fought off. "They're doing pretty good no?" Steven spoke softly. "You're here to watch, not talk. And if you're watching you could see they are doing poorly at combat." I could hear the shuffling of clothes, which made me expect Marc had taken over the body. "Mr. Spector, how lovely it is for you to be joining." "You can talk shit all you want to me but leave Steven out of this." He said through his gritted teeth. "This is a life or death situation. We're not dealing with some mediocre who is just power hungry and wants to correct the world. No. We are dealing with someone who could easily wipe out the planet within minutes, make everyone be a slave under his command. Harrow was just a taste of how power could be used against the gods... Apophis is someone you don't want to be going up against." My bright white eyes stared into his. I saw how his body came to the realization of how serious this could actually be. For once, I think the gears inside his head are actually turning. "Fine...what's the plan for this then?" I tilted my head a bit as I was slightly shocked by his response. He was actually going to listen to me? Something I never thought he could do. I looked down at the cage once more and saw that the partners weren't even close to being done. "Avoid killing the Jackals. If we kill a certain amount, they release double the amount than what we kill. This is about stealth, not how quick you can be. But time is of the essence, so this isn't a walk in the park speed, this is-" "Hurry up and don't die but don't do anything stupid to where it gets us caught." "So you can be smart, didn't that was possible." He rolled his eyes and tightened his crossed arms. "Let's get one thing straight before this whole nightmare becomes a reality. This is nothing but work. We're not "buddies", we're not "pals", this is nothing more than us just being partners. We don't need to know nothing about each other, other than knowing if one is alive or not. Deal?" I said in the voice changer. I held out my hand waiting for him to take it. He looked down at my hand and saw how his hand followed up to my glowing eyes. "Deal." He clasped his hand with mine and gave it a firm shake.
