" She wore a troubled past like wings-she had been through hell, and though no one could see her demons, they could see the fact that conquered them."

For the first time that day, Marya Montague was separated from Agatha and had history with Professor Sader while the reader had Good deeds with Professor Dovey, the Fairy Godmother who was Dean of Good. The lesson passed by extremely quickly in the brunette's eyes as she listened intently to the Seer whose story-telling skills were unmatched. Time flew by and the students of both schools found themselves in the Clearing for a brief announcement by the Deans.

Marya stood next to her cousin and waited for the remaining students to enter the field from the Tunnel of Trees. She noticed Beatrix jabbering away to an un-enthused Tedros, Tristan leaning against a tree as he puffed at his newly-dyed blonde quite similarly to the Pendragon prince, and Agatha who tried to hide her laughter at the scene.

All of a sudden, Castor announced the presence of both deans-Dovey and Lesso-and the woman of Good began speaking about the lies and rumours going about both schools of a curse being put on Evil. Agatha had something to say and faced off with Lady Lesso, who looked down upon the ravenette with a sneer. Sophie then joined in, and comments were tossed around from Beatrix to Agatha, to Sophie and Tedros. It seemed that the Pendragon lost his temper and finally punched Tristan, who observed all of the prince's moves in swordplay, therefore making it a practically never-ending fight. Everything turned to chaos as Nevers roared, charging into battle against the Evers.

Marya's eyes widened, and she turned to see Agatha chortling at the scene before her. The teachers didn't dare interrupt...That was until Sophie threw a fallen branch meant for Hort at Lesso. The brawling stopped. Students froze.

" Lock her in her tower!" She commanded, pointing at Agatha, who was instantly dragged away by Fairies to her dorm.

" And this one." Lady Lesso stabbed her blood stained finger from the gash on her cheek right at Sophie. " To the Doom Room."

The blonde Never was seized by the Wolves, and with one word, all petrified looks faded as students were herded into their groups for Surviving Fairytales.

Marya met eyes with Gavriel, and a chill went up her spine. Something big was going to happen. Something terrible. With utmost uncertainty.

The students waited for Yuba to call the conductor of the Flowerground when Sophie of Gavaldon made an appearance once more, except everyone stared at her in horror at the horribly chopped locks she now wore.

" Least you look like a Never now." Tedros said from beside Marya, who was too occupied speaking with her cousin to notice his conversation. " So no one makes my mistake. Well, this is what happens when you're friends with a witch."

Sophie scampered off, completely and utterly humiliated. After clinging to Dot for dear life, a caterpillar in a violet velvet tuxedo and matching top hat appeared from a pumpkin and told the students in the crabbiest voice, " No spitting, sneezing, singing, sniffling, swinging, swearing, sleeping, or urinating in the Flowerground. Violations will result in the removal of your clothes. All aboard!"

Vines suddenly yanked Marya and her peers into the earth, and the ride began. At each station on every line, there was a lizard orchestra that played different music styles. There were caroling blue frogs and snacks offered at every turn. It was heavenly.

The brunette was then pulled from her serene state when she bloomed like an elegant rose and found herself in a land where the sky was bleak and the headstones gray as they swept over barren hills. It was the Garden of Good & Evil.

Yuba instructed them to find Meerworms in pairs, and whichever duo ate the most would win the highest ranking. Tedros was unfortunately pulled along by Beatrix as he peered apologetically over his shoulder to Marya, who gave him a small smile prior to pairing herself with Gavriel. They began walking in the direction no other headed towards and made small-talk as they tried locating the worms.

" May I ask you a question, cousin?" She queried unsurely.

" Of course. You may ask me anything."

" Are-Are my parents here?"

Marya stopped her walking when she noticed the prince was not alongside her anymore. His eyes were sorrowful.

" No one knows where they are."

Tears bordered her waterline, and it was becoming a tedious task to keep them at bay. Her parents had to be here. It was the resting place for fairytale heroes and villains.

" But...their tale says they died! They must be buried here! They have to be!"

Gavriel shook his head as tears threatened to spill from his very own hazelnut eyes. He didn't have the heart to tell his cousin what happened to her parents, but if he didn't, who would?

" Marya," The Capulet prince said gently as possible, taking her hands into his.

" All the Enchanted Woods knows is they passed in each other's arms. Their tale never stated their location, just that they were together. It remains a mystery."

" That means I will never see them. Or speak with them." She murmured, a lone tear trailing down her porcelain cheek before she hurriedly swiped it away and took a deep breath. " Come on now, we have a challenge to win."

Indeed, they did.

It was quite late when Agatha snuck back into her dorm room, where a figure lay under the sheets of the bed across the room, still as the waters of Avalon. She gazed at Marya, who seemed peaceful in her slumber.

A knot twisted in her stomach at the thought of what she was about to do to her new friend. But, it was necessary. If she wanted to go home alongside Sophie, they needed Tedros to kiss the blonde. It was the only way. Even if it meant some were hurt in the process.

The Pendragon prince was their ticket out of this place, but first, he needed to fall in love with Sophie. Agatha didn't know how they were going to make it happen, but it had to happen fast. Time was ticking.
