Twenty Two Days!

It has been twenty two days since the snap, half the universe missing as billions were wiped out by just that one snap.

Twenty two days since she'd last seen him, it nearing twenty three now as it became night time.

Just one snap had to happen for half of civilization to be wiped out, and of course the man she was deeply in love with just had to be one of them halves.

Was there ever going to be a chance for them? They didn't want for a lot, just each other. They just wanted to be Jamie and Doll, Bucky and Maggie.

Every time they would meet up and start to finally be happy together it was like there was something that was always going to rip them apart.

First it was Hydra, then it was the accords and now it was Thanos, only this time it wasn't both of them suffering, it was just Maggie burdened with having not blipped away.

It seemed like it was fate that they'd never truly be happy, at least not in the way they'd like, something always cut between them.

And as day by day came, Maggie didn't know how much hope she had left to hold onto for their story.

Maggie was showering in the compound, what was left of the team in Wakanda having came back to the Avengers Compound, wanting to find Thanos and get everyone back.

Though ever since Thanos disappeared after they lost in Wakanda it seemed like he'd dawn of the face of the universe, no sightings, satellites or anything picking a trace of him up.

He hadn't used those stones once since he used them to create a portal to leave Wakanda, not having done anything but disappear, it was almost if he'd blipped away too.

As she let the water run over her Maggie blocked herself from feeling once more, since the snap she had refused herself to feel any sadness at all.

After she prayed for deaths door that day as she sobbed over Bucky's ashes, she couldn't let her emotions get the best of her, so she did what she was trained to do, locking her emotions far away, not letting herself feel.

She wouldn't, because they'd been trying to find Thanos to get the stones back and bring everyone back, and if she let herself feel excitement and held out for hope.

She knew that it would be the impossible and if there was one minor slip up that they would loose, and she didn't want to get her hopes up.

So instead of being hurt or hopeful to then possibly hurt she just refused to let herself feel anything at all, closing herself off and becoming a shell of a human.

Getting out of the shower she patted herself dry, putting on her clothes as she began to towel dry her hair, walking from the shower room to the main bathroom area.

Being met with the sight of Steve shaving off his on the run beard, seeming to finally have had enough of it as he razored it off, then washing the shaving cream from his now smooth face.

"I was just getting used to the beard", Maggie spoke up, still towel drying her hair, seeing Steve's eyes turn to look at her in the mirror.

"Well, it was-"

Steve cut himself off as the room began to shake, both him and Maggie looking to each other to share a look of wonder on what exactly was making the ground shake.

Jogging outside to the large field of the compound they were met with what was left of the Avengers, looking up into the sky to see a space ship coming towards them with what seemed to be a very bright star holding onto it.

The bright light began to dimmer to closer the space ship got to the ground, the surroundings darkening with only the lights of the compound shining over once the space ship had landed.

A blonde haired woman wearing a blue and red suit stepping out from around the space ship as a blue robot woman came out of the space ship holding a skinnier and frail looking Tony Stark.

Feeling Steve move from beside her, Maggie watched as he jogged up quickly to meet Tony as he stepped off the last step of the space ship, holding onto his arms to help keep him up.

"I couldn't stop him", Tony told him, talking about Thanos and the fight he'd had with him in space.

"Neither could I", Steve wanted to lightly reassure him, not wanting Tony to be hard on himself.

"I lost the kid", Tony said in despair, Peter having been like a son to him, seeing so much yet so little of himself in Peter.

"Tony, we lost", Steve said gravely.

"Is, uh...?", Tony looked around the people on the field, breathing a sigh of relief when he saw Pepper emerging from them and towards him.

"Oh, my God!", Pepper cried as she saw him, running up and giving him a hug. "Oh, my God!"

Watching on with envy Maggie knew it was a bad thing not feeling happiness for the couple who were relieved to see each other.

She just couldn't help herself but to be jealous, envious that they hadn't lost one another, it wasn't fair that she lost her other half and was now forced to watch this.

Taking a deep breath in she tried to calm herself down, not liking this side to her at all, the dark side that she ignored most of the time, it was just seeming to be eating her up whole.
