I'm not entirely sure how I managed to drag Tyler and Ashlyn along..
But somehow I did.

I'm over at Ashlyn's.
We're getting ready for the Valentine annual dance.

I'm so excited!
This year I've managed to get Ashlyn to go!
Every year, every dance, I've always subtly hinted to her that I wanted her to go, but considering we weren't friends, and she wasn't a talker (She still isn't.)
She never went.

We're sitting on her bed.
My hand is holding her chin steady, our legs overlapping each others, and I'm doing her eyeliner.
Ashlyn claims she's never gotten her makeup done.
But she does ballet! Don't you normally wear makeup on stage?

"Alright!" I bring my hands down, turning to the rest of my makeup.
I've always liked makeup.
Tyler sometimes let's me do his.
He is the test dummy.
"I think you're good.. What else do you want?" I asked, tilting my head at the palettes of color.

"I'm not sure? Taylor, I'm not a makeup girl." She rests her arms in her lap.
"Where did Tyler go..?" She looked around her room.

"Bathroom? Oh! Do you have a curling rod?" I asked, twirling my finger around my hair, as I started to pack up the mess I've made on Ashlyn's bed.

"My mom might.." She pushed herself off the bed, going to the door.
"Mom! Do we have a curling rod?" Ashlyn yelled down the hallway.
I heard a faint "Yeah!".
Well that's good to know.
I should've been smart and brought my own, but I forgot this morning.

We're in the living room.
I'm helping Tyler with his tie, and Ashlyn's mom is helping her with her dress.
I've never seen Ashlyn wear a dress before, but I have to admit, the one she's wearing is stunning.
It's quite long, ankle length long, and it's a pretty sage color.

I can tell Tyler is trying hard not to stare, he keeps leaning back, trying to move around me and see her.

"Tyler, quit moving!" I mumble, finally getting his tie tied.
I smile at my work.
Looking up at him.
"What?"

"Nothing." He shakes his head and backs up, shoving his hands into his pockets.
I managed to get him in a dark blue tie, dark grey vest, with a white button up shirt, and black dress pants.
I wasn't far off from matching him, nothing but a blue long dress.
My favorite part about the dress was the top. It has this weird crisscross thing, but I adore it!

I look back over at Ashlyn to see her mom, Emma, putting a sliver hair clip into the half bun she did.
Like, one of those wedding clips.
Ashlyn looked at the dress, staring at the heels she was wearing.

"..I'm bringing my boots." She commented. Immediately walking to the shoe rack they had.
I could hear an audible sigh from Emma, but no words.

"You kids almost ready?" Mike asked, grabbing his keys.
I nodded, along with Tyler.

"Yeah, almost, dad." Ashlyn crouched down to grab her boots.
Tyler and I went to go shuffle around her, deciding we would wait for the two in the car.

We all stood outside of the school, waiting for Aiden and Ben to arrive.
Logan was the first one here.
I sat on one of the benches, crossing my legs as I waited.

To say I was nervous, was a complete understatement.
I truly felt like I was going to throw up.
I'm kind of hoping Ben asks me to dance tonight.
And if he doesn't, I'm trying to muster up the courage to ask him myself.

"Well look who finally decided to show up!" Tyler yelled, his arms crossed looking at Aiden and Ben.
I stood up, looking at the two as they walked up.
