How Do We Get Back To Normal?

It's been about a week since Elliot left to go back to San Francisco. We had dinner last night and it went well, he's been texting me constant updates about the case they're working too. He's trying and I want to believe him. It helps that Parker is keeping him in line. She keeps him on a tight leash, to the point she's sent me photos of him like a stalker.

Things in Santa Barbara are complicated but nice. I'm officially a partner at Psych, and officially a police liaison. I've spent my whole life practically opposite of the law, so working with them has been weird.
Legally Carter Ford has been an Interpol agent since age 24. Before that she worked undercover with the fbi. Learning my new life hasn't been easy, but I like it.

Sterling gave me a life I could be proud of. A life I could tell my children about and I'm grateful for it. He's managed to arrest four people on my list already. Four that I didn't have to go after, that Nate didn't have to go after.

Elliot's a former US marshal on early retirement after the Moreau case, legally we're squeaky clean. Every crime we were wanted for is wiped from the database. As far as the law is concerned, we've always been the good guys.

Elliot is coping with that. He feels like he hasn't earned it, but I do. There's still a a lot left of the wall between us but it's coming down. His PTSD has been worse since he's been back at the apartments. He hardly sleeps anymore, he's back to only sleeping four hours which worries me. He panics if I don't text him everyday, not in a controlling way, he doesn't ask what I've been doing, he just wants to know if I'm okay.

Shawn and I, it's been mostly innocent, a kiss here and there when the moment felt right. Juliet and I have been nearly inseparable though. She's spent every night this week here. This morning I woke up with her arms wrapped so tightly around me I thought I was being crushed. She hasn't forgiven herself yet.

She's been apologizing all morning. It's just her and I on a crime scene today, Lassiter had to teach a class at the academy, and Shawn was doing some work at his dads house. We make a good team though, I'm thankful I have her.

"Car, I'm sorry I tried to kill you last night." Juliet quietly whispered while we were leaned over a half charred corpse.

"Jules, death by cuddle is the least scary way I've almost been killed. If that's how I go, it's how I go and I'm okay with that." I teased back looking up only to see chief Vick standing there confused by what she just overheard.

"Do I need to know about anything between you two?" She asked putting her hands on her hips looking a little surprised.

"Chief, no, no, nothing, we aren't having sex." Juliet stuttered causing me to laugh a little.

"I keep giving her crap for it, I've had really bad ptsd since the incident. Juliet has been staying with me and Shawn so I feel safe. I can't sleep alone so when Shawn had to leave early Juliet took his place. She's an aggressive cuddler we learned." Juliet gave me a relieved look hoping the chief would buy it. Judging by her face, she didn't.

"So which one of you is dating Spencer? Because first it was you, and then your husband came back, then it seemed like Juliet and Shawn had a thing?" Chief Vick of course chose the middle of a crime scene to interrogate us about our torrid affair. "To your own admission you're sharing a bed with him."

"Sister wives, we're trying this whole polygamy thing." Juliet nervously laughed trying to brush it off as an absurd joke.

"You are having twins, not a bad idea. Whatever weird thing you have going on, don't let it interfere with your case work." Karen just sighed at us, she didn't seem mad, just a little annoyed. I think she's come to expect shit like this from Shawn and I. "The M.E. is here, I'm going to go back to the station. Call if anything comes up."
