Sad Birthday

None POV:

Marinette gave up, she just run away to the garden of this huge house letting Zoe and Adrien in the house with Emma

Zoe: nanny number 26 out?

Adrien: she stayed with Emma for nine hours like wow

Emma: she will leave me now

Zoe: what have you done to her this time?

Emma: many things. She even fell from the stairs, she also slipped twice and ....

Adrien: wait, she fell from the stairs? That's why she had bandages?

Emma: yes papa. I wanted her to give up

Adrien: Emma, why are you doing that?

Emma: because all my nannies leave.

Zoe: she punished you or something?

Emma: no, she wanted to be friend with me but I don't want her friendship. she made me lunch and dinner for you all but I love her cooking to be honest papa

Adrien sighed and he asked Zoe to take care of Emma then he went to check on where is Marinette

He found her sitting on the edge of the fountain, crying and sobbing. Adrien saw her bandages and felt really bad for that because she tried to be patient with his little baby. He walked toward her and had a seat just beside her

Marinette: I c-can't Mr. Agreste

Adrien: I'm sorry, I understand, I'll give you your salary for those nine hours. you are the first nanny who was able to stay with Emma for more than two hours

Marinette: t-two hours?

Adrien: Emma hates everyone, except me, her uncle and aunt.

Marinette: do you mind telling me the full story about Emma?

Adrien sighed and stay quiet for seconds, then he looked at the bluenette and nodded

Adrien: It was the day of her third birthday...... it was a very sad bithday, me, my brother and sister, had Emma standing on the chair to blow on the candles, and waiting for her mom to join us. she insisted to wait for her mom, Emma was so attached to her mother and she really love her so much. We waited ten minutes but she doesn't come. I went to our bedroom, and I didn't find her. when I called her, she said that a businessman promised her to make her career shine in all over the world

Marinette: b-but aren't you famous and you could do better than that?

Adrien: we had no one to take care of Emma, she is a bit special, she hates to be alone, she hate thunders, when she is sick, someone should always be with her, she is so attached to her family and more, so I told Kagami to stay with Emma and I will be responsible for everything till Emma grow up then I'll give her the career that she dream of and she accepted that, but one day, I needed an extra model and I asked my ex wife for that. that businessman saw her and he gave her this contract and now she is his main model and assistant, his name is Nathaniel

Marinette: I know his company I think

Adrien: she didn't tell me anything. if she told me about the contract, I would tell her to be a model and give her a chance and never leave our daughter, I will manage to do that and make her a star but it was late. When I called her, she said that the papers of divorce are in the drawer and already signed by her, and that she won't be back. I signed the papers and joined my family downstairs, Emma had a wide smile on her face, she was like "papa, where is mama, I want to wish that we will always be happy family" but when my brother saw the divorce papers, he understands

Marinette: she left her daughter the day of her birthday without even a goodbye?

Adrien: yes. When the three of us told Emma what happened, she closed on herself in her room for a week without leaving, we try to feed her but nothing till she get sick and I had to take her to hospital. I didn't know what to do, to see my only reason to live on a hospital bed, sick for that bitch. I didn't go to work for a long time and let my brother take care of that, I needed to take care of my little baby, I even had a therapist for her but she didn't accept anyone around her except me, her aunt or uncle. She lost her trust in people; she doesn't want to be attached to anyone to not lose no one again. that's why she did that with her nannies. You were so patient with her, and that's why she is trying to see if you will be or not.

Marinette: Mr. Agreste ...

Adrien: I'm sorry for giving you a headache. Ill drive you home, let's go

When Adrien stands up, the bluenette grabbed his hand and stand up just in front of him, wiping her tears with her free hand

Marinette: I'll stay

Adrien: after all what she did to you, you aren't obliged to ....

Marinette: Emma is so little, she just needs some love, and I'll try to give her everything, even if this means I'll get some cupcakes on my face or slip on the floor

Adrien and Marinette laughed together but the blond was so happy to hear that she will try again with his daughter so without thinking, he hugged her tight

Adrien was surprised when she hugged him too. She was shorter than him, so her head was laid on his shoulder and her arms around his torso

When they pulled apart, they looked to each other with a blush on their cheeks

The little Emma was held by Zoe, and they were both watching Adrien and Marinette talking then hugging

Adrien: I heard from Emma that you fell from the stairs. Is everything ok? anything hurt you? I can bring a doctor for you

Marinette: I'll be fine after resting Mr. Agreste

Adrien: you can rest now; my sister is leaving and I'll keep Emma with me

Marinette: ok, and I cooked the dinner for all of you. you can feed her

Adrien: I will. Thanks Marinette

They both get into the house. Marinette went to her room, she stripped from her clothes and laid on her bed to watch tv, meanwhile downstairs, Zoe has already left to her house, and Adrien got Emma to the dining room to feed her

Emma: why she didn't leave?

Adrien: she said that she won't leave you even if she knows that you are going to do more pranks for her

Emma: she will stay because of you

Adrien: no, she decided to stay when I told her everything happened to you Emma. She isn't staying for me. you trust me?

Emma: I trust you very much papa

Adrien: so why don't you try to give her a chance? If you love me, give her a chance. Talk to her, eat with her and play with her

Emma: I don't know papa.

Adrien: do whatever makes you comfortable but please no pranks

The toddler just nodded then she got the bite that her father gave her from the food

Emma: I saw you hugging her papa

Adrien: are you mad because I did that?

Emma: yes, because you hugged her and not me tonight papa

Adrien chuckled and put the spoon on the table then he picked Emma from her chair and sit her on his lap just to hug her so tight

Adrien: I love you so much Emma ......
