The sun was barely up when Marinette gently shook Adrien awake, a smile tugging at her lips "Wake up, sleepyhead" she whispered, leaning down to kiss his cheek "We got a big day. Little Emma's first day of preschool"
Adrien blinked his eyes open, grinning as he stretched "You are right" They crept over to Emma's room, where the little toddler was bundled up, asleep, her tiny face tucked into the pillow.
"Emma" Marinette said, sitting down beside her and brushing a hand over her curls. Adrien knelt on the other side "Time to wake up, little bug. Today is your big day" he whispered.
Emma blinked open her eyes, her sleepy gaze meeting Adrien's before breaking into a smile. With a little squeal, she threw her arms around him, snuggling against his neck "good morning papa"
He scooped her up, laughing as she nuzzled into his shoulder "good morning little bug. That's my brave girl"
Once they were downstairs, Marinette was busy at the stove, flipping pancakes. Emma scrambled into her chair, eyes widening as Marinette set a plate in front of her, cutting up the pancakes into perfect little bites "Eat up, my dear," she said with a smile, watching Emma dig in eagerly. She brushed her hands over Emma's hair, noticing the little furrow between her brows.
"You nervous?" she asked
Emma looked up, nodding a little, her eyes clouded with worry "y-yes"
Adrien leaned over, resting a hand on her shoulder "Hey, you are going to do great. And we will be right here when you get out. Promise"
With a comforting smile, Marinette fed her another bite, the tension in Emma's face easing as she finished breakfast. After brushing her teeth and a quick bath, Marinette helped her into her new clothes for preschool
Once everyone was dressed, they climbed into the car, Adrien and Marinette each holding one of Emma's hands as the driver made his way to the preschool. Marinette leaned over to kiss Emma on the cheek
